Juskow in the City

Conclave

Season 4, Ep. 145

Well yes I did go to see the movie Conclave, where people in the theater don't shut up (Who's that guy again?) Ugh. But also, I was misled into a basement podcast on a table with no microphones and where they store the liquor for the building next door. I was lucky to get out alive 😅 - AND, I run into girls from Florida and let the Saki Bombs begin. I wish I were kidding. Remember Anything Goes in Florida.

  • 158. But I'm a Cheerleader

    48:31||Season 4, Ep. 158
    For a show called Juskow in the City (being New York City) we certainly do spend an awful lot of time in New Jersey, well this week, for some reason, it's all about Connecticut. I was there twice this week and I must say, it was some pretty sweet magic. First stop, Greenwich - where the old producer of the David Letterman show has a yearly Ice Hockey shin dig that was kind of incredible. Then New Haven, the home of Yale University, where I shot a movie with Mr. Sam Morril and then opened for him at a concert venue for about 800 folks. But don't worry, I had dinner at the Texas Roadhouse in Jersey by the end of the week. Too much CT, am I right?
  • 157. "The Acupuncturist" (Starring Gene Hackman)

    43:21||Season 4, Ep. 157
    The week began innocently enough at Don't Tell Mamas where the tables were turned on your pal Dave Juskow, but then an old army injury flared up again as my back just stopped working I guess. Enter the Acupuncturist. A friend's wife who's obviously nutty with this old mysticism like The Force. BUT, I was desperate so I gave it a try and TRIED extremely hard to concentrate knowing full well, it may not work if you don't give it your all. Unfortunately, an hour before the Acupuncture I found out my garage in Manhattan was closing for good. It's like getting kicked out of your apartment. I dare anyone to feel relaxed after that so. . . .All we be explained on this week's episode. And Gene Hackman, of course. . . a murder mystery. EGGciting.
  • 156. Should Win, Will Win, We All Lose

    49:17||Season 4, Ep. 156
    The show before the Oscars. I've been watching all the movies. Anora and The Substance are pretty good HOWEVER, if we're comparing them to The Godfather or Titanic or Forrest Gump -- they stink! You know how angry I get about this - so it's that time of the year. We'll see. And of course watch my companion piece where we make our selections from the Comedy Cellar on YouTube. Otherwise, this week - the big awful showing at the University with all the professors in one room greeting each other, "professor, professor, professor" - like in Spies Like Us, "doctor, doctor, doctor". Epic.
  • 155. The Pre-Valentine's Purge

    51:45||Season 4, Ep. 155
    This pre-valentine's day week crashes and burns as everyone cancels but it all turns out into an interesting weekend. I got to spend time with the Dave Juskow of the last generation (except he's rich). Damnit. I've gotta work on that. Also, Super Bowl Sunday at Elon and his wife's apt. I thought they were having a super bowl party but they only invited me. "Do you want us to order Thai food?" For Super Bowl Sunday? What is happening!?? Uh oh. All will be explained on this week's exciting episode of Juskow in the City.
  • 154. When There's a Shine on Your Shoes

    47:30||Season 4, Ep. 154
    "You know, my boyfriend has that same watch." As quoted from the classic Seinfeld. So I've got a story for you today my friends that will amaze and entertain and bring up alot of questions as Valentine's day creeps closer and makes the natives restless. BUT, when there's a shine on your shoes, there's a melody in your heart - and isn't that the most important thing of all. Of course, everything will be explained in its entirety on an all new exciting Juskow in the City!
  • 153. Why Does Congestion Pricing Hate Me?

    01:12:49||Season 4, Ep. 153
    Could Congestion Pricing be working? Or is it all smoke and mirrors? It was all put to the test this week by me. You're going to want to listen to see what happened as I attended a museum opening this week, which is what us New Yorker's do if you're cool (and old). On the flip side, the week before I had french fries with 2 hamburgers crushed in so. . . .Score! Also, my university lecture on Desi Arnaz. I know it sounds awful but I'm sure you'll find it as fascinating as I do. You'll see. It's a quality podcast today. You'll love it and lives up to its name.
  • 152. Ladies and Gentlemen, You're Attention Please

    46:28||Season 4, Ep. 152
    This week - a desperate call for help to me to bring Sarah Silverman up on stage at the Beacon Theater in NYC for her Netflix taping two hours before the show. Listen this week to find out what happens. Also a double dip of Dave Attell birthday shin digs and an additional birthday with Baba Booey. What a week of comedy, without actually doing any comedy. You've gotta respect it. It's Juskow in the City!
  • 151. Super Secret Pop Up Show

    59:34||Season 4, Ep. 151
    Since I invented the 6:00 p.m. show at the Comedy Cellar, it was only natural to tell Sarah Silverman she should practice her Netflix special there in front of a live audience. So, the Super Secret Pop Up Show was on the board but none of the audience knew who it was and since I was opening for her, they may as well have said, "before we bring up Bruce Springsteen, the comedy stylings of. . ." oy. But, classic and you can hear all about that and my nutty friend who wanted to cruise around Newark, NJ in the middle of the night and a night performing at the classic NYC Cabaret Club, Don't Tell Mama's in Times Square. What a show this week!
  • 150. A Night at the Stone Pony

    57:16||Season 4, Ep. 150
    This week we go back once again to Christmas and New Year's and then we'll be all caught up. Yes, Christmas at Rachel Feinstein's - a hilarious sentence. Listen to what happened when I bought the daughter of the New York City Fire Chief a pack of matches as a xmas gift. HIGHlarious! (or was it?). Also, spending multiple nights at my new home in New Jersey - the Jon Bon Jovi Rest Area on the Garden State Parkway; going to the Stone Pony to see my friend play in his band, The Rachets; and the movie Heretic with the legendary Hugh Grant. How was it? I'll let you know as we continue the 2025 Juskow in the City Podcast!!
