Malaysian GP - Review: Dovi on cloud 9
Andrea Dovizioso finally gets the second win of his career, seven years after the first, to become the ninth different MotoGP race winner in 2016, with the Yamaha duo of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo as Marc Marquez crashed out in the wet conditions in Malaysia. Earlier in the day Johann Zarco became the first rider to ever retain the Moto2 title, while Pecco Bagnaia took the win in a crash filled Moto3 race. Marquez with one hand on the trophy?
Marc Marquez came out on top at Phillip Island following a stunning race which saw the top seven over-take one another 73 times and separated by just +5.619 seconds - the closest ever gap in the MotoGP era. Marquez takes grip on championship
From level on points to 16 in the lead, Marc Marquez rode brilliant race at home at Aragon to take a dominant strangle hold on the championship. Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo completed the podium, while Valentino Rossi heroically finished fifth, 24 days after breaking his leg.
