Marquez takes grip on championship
From level on points to 16 in the lead, Marc Marquez rode brilliant race at home at Aragon to take a dominant strangle hold on the championship. Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo completed the podium, while Valentino Rossi heroically finished fifth, 24 days after breaking his leg. The championship is level
I know we say it every week, but what a championship this is turning out to be. Now Marc Marquez and Andrea Dovizioso are level on points at the top of the championship with Maverick Vinales keeping a watching brief in third, a further 16 points back. At San Marino, Marc Marquez mastered the wet condition to take victory and break the heart of Danilo Petrucci who for a long time looked like would take his maiden win in the class. As always, the BT Sport MotoGP team were at the heart of the action in pit-lane to grab all the fall-out from a dramatic day of racing at Misano.
