Thank God It's Toby: Highlights

Luis

Season 2021, Ep. 22

We are three workers at Nagus Games. The programmer, Pablo; the writer, Josep, and me, the artist, Luis.

I entered this project thanks to the fact that I met Pablo to get another job, but we started talking and we saw that we both liked the world of technology and video games, and I decided to show him drawings that I had made, some related to those themes and others that had nothing to do with it. He liked them and I think he saw in them what he was looking for and after a few weeks he told me about this project and that he wanted to make a video game. Hearing this I didn’t need to think about it much, since that had always been my dream.

Since I was a child I have been an introverted and reserved person, while most children played sports or related to others, I liked to be at my own, drawing, reading, playing video games or collecting cards and other similar things. I loved to ley my imagination fly, inspired by all those worlds that I discovered when doing those activities.

Nowadays, it is no longer difficult for me to meet and talk with people, but I still enjoy video games, reading and drawing more.

Four years ago I go to know the world of manga and anime, which for those who do not know it are comics and Japanese-style animation, and since the it has become the first on the list of things that I enjoyed doing the most. It somehow haunted and captivated me from the first time I saw it, and it is something I am passionate about. This only helped to increase my interest into the world of video games and drawing, but adding the Japanese style, which does not start the designs directly on the computer, but first they are made by hand and then they move on to these. Forming and marking my current drawing style, the way and what I aspire to do and dedicate to in the future. I want to follow those steps and keep the drawing by hand as long as I can.

Finally, speaking of my work in the company, thanks to all this and that I have been doing since I was a child, it has helped me to develop my imagination and to make it easier for me to get into the worlds and characters of which I am asked. Not only giving what they ask of me, but even taking ideas to something unexpected and that exceeded the initial idea.
