  • Little Dome: April 2001 in Cafe Diana!

    21:22
For many years, as part of his morning commute, Gareth Gwynn would pass Cafe Diana - an establishment dedicated to the memory of Diana, Princess of Wales. From the top of the 94 bus he dreamed that one day, in the future, he would visit. On that day, he would see for himself what Cafe Diana was all about. He would finally find out how it memorialized her and discover for himself what was on the menu. Well, he's pleased to say that day finally came... Sometime in 2012? Maybe 2013? Something like that. Certainly ages ago, well before he'd ever met Esyllt Sears and definitely before he owned his own portable sound recorder.Nevertheless, he was happy to go back in 2024 so Esyllt could see it.Gareth Gwynn and Esyllt Sears discuss April 2001 surrounded by photos of Princess Diana - who was still in the news in 2001 despite having died nearly 4 years earlier. They also cover Bridget Jones' Diary (the film) (the first one) and chocolate bar adverts which aren't for Flake. If you write how many cigarettes you smoke every day in the top of your diary, let us know on thexennialdome@hotmail.com or one of the following methods:TikTok: @the.xennial.domeInstagram: @XennialDomeX/Twitter: @TheXennialDomeFacebook: @TheXennialDomeMyspace: thexennialdomeCome and see us at Machynlleth Comedy Festival on Sunday 5th May at 6pm. • Little Dome: April 1984 with Stuart Laws!

    30:29
It's a very special birthday episode featuring a former guest - Stand-up comedian, producer and director Stuart Laws. Stuart entered the world in April 1984 with a Twirl and a Splash. Literally. Having appearence once before to place mp3 CDs into the dome, he has now returned just in time for his 40th birthday, and for Esyllt Sears and Gareth Gwynn to talk him through some of the key moments from the month of his birth. You can get in touch with the show on thexennialdome@hotmail.com or one of the following methods:TikTok: @the.xennial.domeInstagram: @XennialDomeX/Twitter: @TheXennialDomeFacebook: @TheXennialDomeMyspace: thexennialdome

Tickets for The Xennial Dome's Little Dome - Live at Machynlleth Comedy Festival on 5th May 2024 are available here.Sunday trading doesn't quite happen and IBM enter the laptop game a little late in this April 1986 edition of The Xennial Dome. Gareth Gwynn and Esyllt Sears have opposing ideas when it comes to whether or not shops should be open on a Sunday and maybe it's this kind of conflict which will see us shoot up the various podcast charts? Who knows. You can get in touch with the show 7 days a week on thexennialdome@hotmail.com or one of the following methods:TikTok: @the.xennial.domeInstagram: @XennialDomeX/Twitter: @TheXennialDomeFacebook: @TheXennialDomeMyspace: thexennialdome
  • Easter Leftovers (Castaway 2000)

    19:49
Tickets for The Xennial Dome's Little Dome - Live at Machynlleth Comedy Festival on 5th May 2024 are available here.I like doing a Leftovers episode because I get to change the image. It's another look back at some of the bits and bobs which Gareth Gwynn and Esyllt Sears failed to find time for in previous episodes. There's a whole section from January 2000 about the BBC's analogue answer to Big Brother, Castaway 2000. We've also got mentions of education secretary Kenneth Baker from February 1989 and a story about zoo animals which has nothing to do with February 2005.You can get in touch with the show on thexennialdome@hotmail.com or one of the following methods:TikTok: @the.xennial.domeInstagram: @XennialDomeX/Twitter: @TheXennialDomeFacebook: @TheXennialDomeMyspace: thexennialdome

    20:54
Tickets for The Xennial Dome's Little Dome - Live at Machynlleth Comedy Festival on 5th May 2024 are available here.In this episode, reaction to The Neighbours Game continues - mainly revolving around the fact that Harold was in his 40s during the show's pomp. Nevertheless, Gareth Gwynn and Esyllt Sears don't let any of that get in the way of a look at March 1994 which encompasses the jewel in Alton Towers' crown, Nemesis, and the launch of BBC Radio 5 Live from the ashes of Radio 5.You can get in touch with the show on thexennialdome@hotmail.com or one of the following methods:TikTok: @the.xennial.domeInstagram: @XennialDomeX/Twitter: @TheXennialDomeFacebook: @TheXennialDomeMyspace: thexennialdome

These are some of the questions raised, but not entirely answered, by Gareth Gwynn and Esyllt Sears in this edition of The Xennial Dome.
