The insuleoin Podcast - Redefining Diabetes
#230: Amanda Ciprich (Part 2)
Part 2 of Eoin's chat with Amanda Ciprich (@t1d.nutritionist).
Amanda is from New Jersey in the US, and was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes just shortly after she turned 18 years old. She is a Registered Dietician who works with clients and patients specifically in relation to improving their management of Diabetes, so that they can live a healthy and happy life.
Amanda went through her own struggles when she was initially diagnosed, which played a role in her pursuing a career in health and nutrition. She saw first hand the impact that a “balanced” and “educational” approach to Diabetes management can have on patients, and knew that she had a passion to help change the lives of people living with Diabetes (without being overly obsessive or restrictive).
Topics and ideas Amanda speaks about in this episode:
- Her own “adjusting” period when first diagnosed.
- Why eating more carbohydrates is beneficial to your management.
- How to relieve the “stressful” side of CGMs.
- The biggest challenges you face when improving your management, + how to overcome them.
- And much more!
