Sonny Jay is a Presenter, Radio DJ, host of Capital radio’s late show and former winner of 13th series of ITV's Dancing on Ice. Sonny rose to fame in 2012 when he got to the finals of Britain's Got Talent as part of the band Loveable Rogues. In 2015 pop’s loss was radio’s gain, as Sonny dedicated himself to a broadcasting career. He joined Capital in 2017, initially presenting overnights before joining the Capital Breakfast Show alongside his great friends Roman Kemp and Sian Welby.


In this episode we chat about Sonny's new lease of life a year on from going solo with his late night radio show and we find out all about why he got on to and went on to win Dancing on Ice. We discuss the Sliding Doors moment of Sonny not going to 6th form and how this was the catalyst to his career in entertainment and starting Loveable Rogues. We delve into the decision he made to do Britian's Got Talent and how this very nearly didn't happen and how their lives were catapulted into the limelight! And we find out about his decision to quit music and go into broadcasting and how this was his full circle moment.

    Ade Adepitan is a TV presenter, Paralympic Medallist and Journalist. With a career spanning over 20 years, he is a disability advocate and one of the first physically disabled television presenters in the UK. Born in Lagos, Nigeria and raised in East London, he survived polio as youngster after he began to lose the use of his legs. Becoming a wheelchair basketball player, he was part of the British team that secured a Bronze medal at the Paralympics, Silver in the European Championships and Gold in The World Championships; And in 2005 he was made an MBE for his services to disability sport. He has won many awards for his work as a presenter at the Paralympics (including a BAFTA) and has hosted countless documentaries and Children in Need. In this episode we get stuck in with the many Sliding Doors Moments Ade has had in his life, including catching Polio and the 'what if' moment he met his wife. Ade has an incredible outlook on life, sports and the challenges we face, especially growing up as a Nigerian family in the 70s in the UK. We delve into the life saving decision Ade made in his teenage years to move to Spain to play basketball. He opens up about the incredible achievement of crawling up a volcano for a documentary, however if it wasn't for his strong will and a courageous decision things would have been very different.
