Original Air Date: 9/12/2020This week we go WAY back to the very beginning of SlashU to re-visit one of our first few episodes. The sound quality wasn't as good but the laughter is still genuine. We're re-visiting "Killer Workout" also known as "Aerobicide." It's the story of Rhonda's place, a gym where all the beautiful people go to get buff. But someone's talking the gym members and killing them in brutal ways. And for some reason the gym stays open, not an active crime scene at all. We broke it all down back in 2020 so take our class again and learn something!

Well this week we covered one that's not exactly a slasher movie. But it's been recommended a bunch of times by people we meet and talk to about horror/slashers. Apparently this is a cult classic. The story centers around a group of college students who break into a bowling alley as part of a sorority initiation. They steal a bowling trophy, but it breaks open and a mischevious Imp pops out and offers to grant them each one wish. And in typical magical-creature-grants-your-wishes fashion, it all goes horribly wrong. Listen, tell your friends, and enjoy!

Original Air Date: 5/22/2023On this episode of SlashU Held Back we're re-visiting "Sweatshop" from 2009. We talk about this movie a LOT on SlashU because it was one of those that came out of nowhere and really surprised us. The plot/acting isn't great, but it's a low budget slasher movie so what do you expect? But the effects were outstanding and the brutality of the slasher really stands out compared to other lesser known movies we've seen. It's the story of a group of glow-stick loving ravers who break into an abandoned factory to hold a huge rave. But The Beast already lives there. And he doesn't take too kindly to anyone breaking in. With his welding mask and giant foundry hammer, he stalks the ravers, violently ending their party.Leave a review, tell a friend, and enjoy!

Original Air Date: 10/17/2022On this week's episode of SlashU Held Back we revisit Season 5, Episode 86 of SlashU where we covered "Frankenhooker." It's a cult classic that's been enjoyed by countless horror fans for years! The story centers around Jeffery who tries to resurrect his recently deceased girlfriend by stitching together the body parts of dead hookers. Because that's totally a thing that would work. This week we covered a movie that we thought was a slasher at first, because it takes place at a Summer Camp and there's a "Doctor" stalking the kids dressed up like a high tech beekeeper. But it's not a slasher. It's a sci-fi thriller that has a cool twist ending. We spoil the whole movie so don't listen until you've watched it unless you're ok with spoilers! The story centers around a young boy named Morgan. It's his first summer at camp. But he has trouble fitting in. For starters, he's just at an awkward young age. But what doesn't help is that Morgan almost drowned not too long ago, so he has a lasting fear of water; something that won't be too popular at Summer Camp. Listen, tell a friend, and enjoy!

Original air date 8/2/21On the debut episode of "SlashU: Held Back" we're re-visiting Season 3, Episode 44 of SlashU where we covered "Don't Go in the House" from 1979. It's the story of a disturbed man by the name of Donny, who was burned and abused by his mother as a child. And now as an adult, he stalks women using a flamethrower. Take a repeat course of SlashU with us!

Today we take a look back at the weekend of March 13-15, 2026 with some recordings from the floor of Milwaukee Horror Con. We talked to some friends of the show and commented on the fun we were having right there in real time. We're back with Part 2 of our episode covering "Mutilator 2" from 2023. Our friend Colby from "Colby Does Horror" joins us again to finish the second half of this "amazing" sequel. In this part, the kills really start to ramp up as the cast and crew of the "Mutilator" remake try to enjoy their wrap party. It's painfully obvious who the killer is. And we just had fun picking apart the effects and the campy acting.
