  • 159. Episode 159: A Christmas Horror Story

    01:01:36||Season 9, Ep. 159
    This week we're bringing you another hidden gem from 2015. Starring William Shatner, it's "A Christmas Horror Story." It's a series of four separate plot lines all intertwined among the people of Bailey Downs, outlining four very different but all horrific Christmases. We thought this was a great way to tell four separate stories all in one 1hour, 40minute movie. And William Shatner! • 158. Episode 158: Nutcracker Massacre

    58:25||Season 9, Ep. 158
    This week we started our annual SlashYule series of Christmas movies to celebrate the season. Too bad we're starting with a very slow slog called "Nutcracker Massacre" from 2022. It follows the story of Clara as she navigates Christmas with her Aunt Marie, cousin Melissa, ex-boyfriend Paul, and a life-sized homicidal possessed Nutcracker figure. Typical Christmas in....London? Los Angeles? New York? We honestly weren't sure where they were trying to be but based on the steering wheel placement, we think it's in the UK. • 157. Episode 157: The Last Thanksgiving

    01:08:02||Season 9, Ep. 157
    Welcome to Thanksgiving week here in the U.S.A. It's a time of year to gather around with friends and family and give thanks for all of the good in your life. For the Brimston family, it's a time to punish anyone who isn't celebrating. And by "punish" I mean "kill and eat." That's right. For a holiday that centers around dinner, we covered a movie that centers around cannabalism. • 156. Episode 156: Terrifier 2

    01:09:01||Season 9, Ep. 156
    We continued our journey in the "Terrifier" series with "Terrified 2" from 2022. Art the Clown is back and it's gorier than ever. As tradition holds, in most slasher movies, the sequel has to ramp up the gore factor. This movie does not disappoint in that regard. Art is a master psycho clown killer and very good at torturing and ultimately killing his victims in very gruesome fashion. But we get more questions than answers in this one and we were left 'turned off' by some of the supernatural stuff in this movie. Maybe "Terrifier 3" will help tie up loose ends. • 155. Episode 155: Terrifier

    01:09:01||Season 9, Ep. 155
    We finally went to "Art Class" this week and watched "Terrifier" from 2016. Here at SlashU we try to educate you on the cheesy, campy, and sometimes forgotten slasher/horror movies. But I think it's safe to say this one is on everyone's radar these days. So it's not very forgotten, however it still fits the mold of cheesy/campy. But it breaks the mold when it comes to gore effects. And with Art the Clown providing the creepiest of killers as a backdrop, we had lots of fun breaking down this beauty of a movie. Give it a listen and tell us what you think.Follow us on Instagram @SlashU_PodcastCheck out the Facebook page tooEmail us at SlashUPodcast@gmail.comSupport the show at SlashUPodcast.comThanks to ZapPlat.com for our Sound FX
  • 154. Episode 154: All Hallows Eve

    56:22||Season 9, Ep. 154
    Well Students, we heard this one was good. Upon review, we're not so sure everyone was truthful with us. We tackled "All Hallows Eve" from 2013. It's the movie that brought us the now infamous Art the Clown from the "Terrifier" series. So your professors thought we'd go see what all the hub-bub was about. We were not impressed. This anthology movie contains three separate stories within a larger story. It's a great framework for a slasher movie, there's no doubt about that. But we were just confused by the point of the three separate stories. No one said we're very smart though. • 153. Episode 153: Don't F*** in the Woods 2

    59:45||Season 9, Ep. 153
    You all knew we would have to talk about the sequel. A few episodes back we covered "Don't F*** in the Woods" and now we've come full circle to cover Part 2. It's the continuation (and conclusion maybe?) to one of the most literal horror movies we have covered here on SlashU. Our Final Girl Jane from the first movie stumbles out of the woods onto a group of counselors at a summer camp. She tries to warn them all about the monster she killed in the woods the night before. You remember the monster that's oddly attracted to anyone engaged in sexual intercourse, right? Well this movie brings a whole new threat and we're going to talk all about it. • 152. Episode 152: Creep Van

    01:09:52||Season 9, Ep. 152
    This week we took a road trip with "Creep Van" from 2012. When a killer with absolutely no backstory starts randomly killing people with this booby-trapped van, our slacker hero Campbell gets mixed up in all the drama. But there are great kills and some cheesy one-liners.Listen and enjoy!
  • Episode 151: Friday the 13th (2009)

    01:13:37|
    We're still so proud of ourselves here at SlashU for completing 150 numbered episodes that we decided to just continue riding the Friday the 13th train by covering the 2009 "remake." Although the argument could be made that this is actually Friday the 13th Part 11, since it's a bit of a 'spiritual sequel' to the 1980 movie. A group of campers out to find a hidden crop of weed in the woods end up camping near the old abandoned Camp Crystal Lake. They unfortunately find out that Jason Voorhees is very much a real threat and that they should have just went to a dispensary.Follow on on Instagram @SlashU_PodcastCheck out the Facebook page tooEmail us at SlashUpodcast@gmail.comClick any of the "buy stuff" links at SlashUPodcast.com to support the showThanks to ZapSplat.com for our Sound FX
