Episode 95 - Painting Forward - Part 2 with Jayke Burgess

Season 2, Ep. 95

Jayke is a survivor and spokesperson for glbtqi domestic violence who speaks to survival, safety, complexity and change. In part 1, Jayke discusses some of the abuse and trauma he experienced at the hands of a former partner, and the many complexities that come with that as a trans person and as as someone who was abused by a woman.

Our discussions dive into the many barriers Jayke faced navigating the family court systems, and still to this day faces as ongoing abuse and coercive control at the hands of his former partner. Jayke also details the many obstacles faced by so many who experience DV, and has some amazing thoughts on how we may remove barriers and improve outcomes.

Thank you so much Jayke!!!
