Episode 111 - If Only One Remembers to Turn on the Light - With Joshua Byrnes - Part 2
Josh is an institutional child sex abuse survivor. His abuser was a revered and must respected Catholic Church priest. He was also Josh’s second cousin. Over an 8 year period Fr Dennis Byrnes made Josh feel like he was so loved, but there was a dark side.
This is a story of a man who had spent a lifetime grooming Josh, his family and parishioners into believing he was a man of faith and good character. If only people knew evil that was hidden behind a smile and the frocks of the faith…this is Josh’s truth.
This is Part 2 in a multi part series where we will deep dive into Josh's story. Josh also supports the #yourreferenceaintrelevant campaign which is now seeking signatures in the ACT. For all ACT residents please follow this link and sign the petition to end good character references for convicted child sex offenders.

50:19||Season 2, Ep. 113Emily Campbell-Ross bravely shares her story of being raped by a man named Thomas Earle, he was found guilty and avoided jail time. This is her story.Collectively as a community when the news of this sentence was brought into mainstream media, the women of Australia were absolutely outraged to see that yet again, people who convict sexual crimes were not being held accountable for them and getting off on them in the face of good character references and 'supportive family'.Em and Madeleine go into detail in part 2 of the trial, Em's life following the assault and where she is today. We also incorporate as much laughter as possible - because if we don't laugh - we'll cry.
