Episode 81 - The Better Sex Ed Project - With Jess

Season 2, Ep. 81

Jess has created an online platform to remove shame and stigma from discussions of sex and intimacy for all. Her platform provides amazing information and education on sexual education. What even is our definition of sex?! Jess details an abuse she was subjected to as a child, and we really dive into the societal norms around this in the environments we were in as growing youth. Jess and Madi also go into what moving into sex, intimacy and pleasure may look like moving past trauma. Whether that be self pleasure, options for sex with a partner and the services available for those who still find sex and pleasure as a barrier post abuse and trauma.

    50:19
Emily Campbell-Ross bravely shares her story of being raped by a man named Thomas Earle, he was found guilty and avoided jail time. This is her story.Collectively as a community when the news of this sentence was brought into mainstream media, the women of Australia were absolutely outraged to see that yet again, people who convict sexual crimes were not being held accountable for them and getting off on them in the face of good character references and 'supportive family'.Em and Madeleine go into detail in part 2 of the trial, Em's life following the assault and where she is today. We also incorporate as much laughter as possible - because if we don't laugh - we'll cry.
