If You're Vegan and Gluten Free, Make Sure You Have These Nutrients

If you're vegan or vegetarian the most important thing is to make sure you get all the nutrients you need. As long as the diet is well planned and varied, it can meet nutritional needs.


According to Registered Dietician Katarina Mollo, the main nutrients of concern with these diets are:

• vitamin B12

• vitamin D

• omega-3 fatty acids

• calcium

• iron

• zinc (2)


Main nutrients of concern with GF diets:

• low fiber

• high fat

• more sugar and high fructose corn syrup

• low in certain vitamins and minerals:

◦ Calcium

◦ Magnesium

◦ Iron

◦ Zinc

The package also bears a UPC Bar Code of 0-72745-80656-8.Also recalled: Butcher Box Organic Gluten-Free Chicken Breast Nuggets with a “best if used by” date of March 23, 2025.Consumers complained about a metal wire embedded in the product and notified the agency.“We determined the material to be a very thin strand of metal wire that was inadvertently introduced into the manufacturing process,” Jeff Shaw, Perdue senior vice president of food safety and quality, said in a statement.————————————-The following (non- gluten free) product, which was produced on March 23, has also been affected by the recall:Perdue chicken breast tenders with a “best if used by” date of March 23, 2025.
