Are You Building Bomb Shelters or Bigger Tables - Part One

From the deep secret of Danielle’s bathroom break to Kirstien sharing the largest bomb shell she has created over the years; you do not want to miss the stories these two share. These ladies share some of their most raw and vulnerable moments all while filling the room with humor and laughter.

Luke 6:27-36: “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you. If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”

Matthew 5:43-48: “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

Romans 12:17-21: “Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord. On the contrary: ‘If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.’ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

    19:10||Season 3, Ep. 1
    The heart, mind, and soul are often talked about as if they are three different things. Which they are, however, they are three CRITICAL components to every human body. We weren't created to only have a mind, but no heart and no soul and vice versa. So many times, mental health is focused on that only, the mind. What would change in mental health care if these three things were "treated" as a package deal? If we could somehow create a holistic approach to mental health while encompassing not just the mind, but also the heart and soul, would we see a change in efficacy?We know that God renews our mind and our soul [𝘙𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘴 12:2, 𝘗𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘮 23:3].He gives us peace and strength [𝘑𝘰𝘩𝘯 14:27, 𝘐𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘢𝘩 41:10],and in Him, we can find rest [𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘸 11:28].He works all things together for us, and He is near to those who are struggling [𝘙𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘴 8:28, 𝘗𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘴 34:18].Local Resources:Candeo Counseling Center4615 Chadwick Rd, Cedar Falls, IA 50613(319) 255-5660www.candeocounseling.comUnityPoint Health – Mental Health Walk-In Clinic212 West Dale Street Suite 100Waterloo, IA 50703319-226-2106Reflections Mental Health ServicesPhone: 319-260-2066 Fax: 319-575-6101reflections.cedarfalls@gmail.comJC Christian Counseling & Life Coaching, LLC2800 Orchard Dr Cedar Falls319.232.4673New Directions Counseling Services1310 Solar Dr. Waterloo319.232.2086Lutheran Services in Iowa3640 University Ave Waterloo319.233.3579
