  • Ep 66: Sammy J touched his teacher’s bra

    01:10:21|
    This week on ‘Work Hates’ we talk to comedian, ex-radio host and national icon, Sammy J! He is a household name who is arguably the most loveable man on the planet, so he took us through some chapters of his life that shocked us. For example, the time he worked in a store where is was made to feel invisible, or the time he was a teenager and an established performer told him to “f**k off”. Sammy is a gifted storyteller, so everything he brought to the podcast was gripping and we left this conversation better people. We absolutely loved this chat with Sammy J, so treat yourself and enjoy this episode of ‘Work Hates’!

  • Ep 65: Andrew Portelli used to catfish paedophiles for fun.

    55:23|
    This week we chat to standup comedian and ex-lawyer Andrew Portelli. He is one of the best joke writers in the business, but before he was a gig pig, he was a prosecutor where he sent bad guys to jail. Andrew explains that he started his work as a modern day hero as a young age when he catfished creeps online ‘for fun’. The man is twisted as shit, but we love him dearly. We had a great time chatting with Andrew, so please enjoy this episode of ‘Work Hates’!
  • 64. Ep 64: Blake Pavey’s internet trolls don’t even scratch the surface

    01:12:49||Ep. 64
    This week on ‘Work Hates’ we have a yarn with TikTok sensation, stand-up comedian and Steve Irwin impersonator, Blake Pavey. He became an online staple during COVID as a highschool student, and his comedic talents have grown from strength to strength. Blake’s early success means he hasn’t had many jobs, but the jobs he did have, he was pretty shit at. You dodged a bullet, Reject Shop! We asked him about nightmare gigs and he shared a corker that involved Wil Anderson and a crying man. Bliss. We loved this chat with Blake Pavey, and we know you will too! • 63. Ep 63: Dave Thornton shamefully performed in sequins at the races

    01:11:49||Ep. 63
    This week on ‘Work Hates’ we sit down with one of the nicest, funniest and tallest people in this great nation, Dave Thornton. There aren’t many telly shows, stages or radio stations he hasn’t been on, and you’d be looking a long time to find someone who doesn’t like him. But before he was a famous comedian, he was the world’s worst graphic designer due to the fact he is colour blind. Dave came with a collection of embarrassing gigs to talk about, including the time he was accused of being racist mid-gig. Awkward. We loved this chat, and we know you will too! • 62. Ep 62: Cam James’s colleague gifted his boss a silicone mold of his penis

    57:54||Ep. 62
    This week on ‘Work Hates’ we recorded in Adelaide during the fringe festival with Australia’s best boy Cam James. He’s gone viral for his hit song ‘Medium Dick’ and his standup tours sell out nationally, but before this success he used to work at a theatre restaurant, which absolutely cancels out anything impressive he has ever done or will do in the future. This theatre restaurant was like an Aldi version of Draculas if Aldi was filled with sex pests, shit food and illicit drugs. He also worked in a factory where he told a nepo baby to shove his job up his arse, which was awesome, but again, doesn’t distract us from out how embarrassing his theatre restaurant job was. We bloody loved this chat with Cam James and we know you will too, so enjoy this episode of ‘Work Hates’!
  • 61. Ep 61: Jess Fuchs was the bitchy medical receptionist we’re all scared of

    01:02:08||Ep. 61
    This week on ‘Work Hates’ we chat to comedian and fashion icon, Jess Fuchs. Jess sheds light on what it’s like to be a medical receptionist, and we were flabbergasted. She was the lady who you had to speak to when you were at your most vulnerable state, and instead of being kind, she was a massive moll. We asked her why all medical receptionists are heartless bullies, and her explanation was perfection. If you have ever been belittled or disrespected by a medical receptionist, and of course you have, listen to this episode. We also talk about comedy, but that goes without saying. Enjoy this episode of ‘Work Hates’!
  • 60. Ep 60: Bron and Bretty have a deep and meaningful

    57:28||Ep. 60
    It was time to do an episode with just us, Bron and Brett just in case we had any sore points we wanted to tend to without making a guest uncomfortable. If you’ve ever wanted to hear how a comedy show is made, or our fears around making our current solos, this is the episode for you. We love making this podcast, and in this recording, we love each other (which is a rumour everyone should start spreading). Enjoy this episode of ‘Work Hates’!
