Work hates Podcast

This week we chat to standup comedian and ex-lawyer Andrew Portelli. He is one of the best joke writers in the business, but before he was a gig pig, he was a prosecutor where he sent bad guys to jail. Andrew explains that he started his work as a modern day hero as a young age when he catfished creeps online ‘for fun’. The man is twisted as shit, but we love him dearly. This week on ‘Work Hates’ we sit down with one of the nicest, funniest and tallest people in this great nation, Dave Thornton. There aren’t many telly shows, stages or radio stations he hasn’t been on, and you’d be looking a long time to find someone who doesn’t like him. But before he was a famous comedian, he was the world’s worst graphic designer due to the fact he is colour blind. Dave came with a collection of embarrassing gigs to talk about, including the time he was accused of being racist mid-gig. Awkward. We loved this chat, and we know you will too! This week on ‘Work Hates’ we recorded in Adelaide during the fringe festival with Australia’s best boy Cam James. He’s gone viral for his hit song ‘Medium Dick’ and his standup tours sell out nationally, but before this success he used to work at a theatre restaurant, which absolutely cancels out anything impressive he has ever done or will do in the future. This theatre restaurant was like an Aldi version of Draculas if Aldi was filled with sex pests, shit food and illicit drugs. He also worked in a factory where he told a nepo baby to shove his job up his arse, which was awesome, but again, doesn’t distract us from out how embarrassing his theatre restaurant job was. This week on ‘Work Hates’ we chat to comedian and fashion icon, Jess Fuchs. Jess sheds light on what it’s like to be a medical receptionist, and we were flabbergasted. She was the lady who you had to speak to when you were at your most vulnerable state, and instead of being kind, she was a massive moll. We asked her why all medical receptionists are heartless bullies, and her explanation was perfection.
