Between 1974 and 1989, the quiet suburb of West Pittston, Pennsylvania became the epicenter of one of America’s most controversial and terrifying hauntings. The Smurl family claimed their humble duplex was under siege by a malevolent force—one that growled through walls, hurled furniture, and even assaulted family members. Their story gained national attention when famed paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren declared it a case of true demonic infestation. Priests, sceptics, psychologists, and the media all weighed in—but the family never wavered in their belief that something evil lived within their home.
