Episode 91: Ozark Season 4, Part 1

This episode of Welcome To The Party Pal celebrates the fourth season of Ozark, the American crime drama television series created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams for Netflix. The series stars Jason Bateman and Laura Linney as Marty and Wendy Byrde, a married couple who relocate their family to the Lake of the Ozarks for money laundering. Bateman also serves as a director and executive producer for the series. In June 2020, the series was renewed for a fourth and final season, which will consist of fourteen episodes split into two parts; the first part was released on January 21, 2022 and that seven episode arc is the focus of this episode. Throughout this podcast host Michael Shields, with the help of artist and film enthusiast Lindsay Paul Hanners, explores the themes and intense action present in Season 4 before looking forward to might be awaiting when Ozark returns for it's final act.

This episode of Welcome To The Party Pal journeys to Graceland to commemorate Elvis, the 2022 biographical musical drama film directed by Baz Luhrmann, who co-wrote the screenplay with Sam Bromell, Craig Pearce, and Jeremy Doner. The film follows the life of rock and roll icon, singer, and actor Elvis Presley, told from the perspective of his manager, Colonel Tom Parker. It stars Austin Butler in the title role with Tom Hanks as Parker, while Olivia DeJonge, Helen Thomson and Richard Roxburgh co-star. Elvis has grossed $285.8 million worldwide against its $85 million budget, becoming the second-highest-grossing music biopic of all-time behind Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) and the fourth-highest-grossing Australian-produced film. Butler's performance garnered widespread acclaim, while the film's costume and production designs as well as musical sequences received positive reviews.
