Episode 296 - Dr. Who and the Daleks
01:29:59||Ep. 296This week Travis is joined once again by Ace aka Ash to discuss 1965's Dr. Who and the Daleks. It was the first feature film for Dr. Who, and the first version of the character in glorious Technicolor. The film is a slight departure from the "canon" of Doctor Who, as it was made just 2 years in to the show's initial broadcast run. It stars Peter Cushing as the eponymous Dr. Who, with his granddaughter's Susan and Barbara, and her boyfriend Ian. They visit a strange planet and encounter the Daleks for the first time. So, is this a fun 60s Sci Fi romp? Or better left off of your Whovian watch list? 01:36:36||Ep. 295This week, Tim Lowe of The Horsegirls podcast is here to talk about his first time watching Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. He had maybe seen parts of it, but never watched it the whole way through. But how does it hold up seeing it for the first time as an adult? Did the tunnel scar him like it did Travis? Also, does it being a musical have anything to do with him not watching it before? And how good is Gene Wilder in this movie? Let's find out...Check out Tim on The Horse Girls Podcast with Alex and Jenna at https://horsegirls.club/Thanks go out to Audie Norman (@TheAudieNorman) for the album art. Episode 294 - Friday the 13th (1980)
01:30:38||Ep. 294This week, Norm from 2 Nerds 1 Quest is back. He's never seen any of the Friday the 13th movies before. In fact, he hasn't even seen clips of them. He only knows of it from references in other movies (like Scream), so, we're fixing that. We are discussing the original 1980 film, Friday the 13th. Directed by Sean S. Cunningham, and staring Betsy Palmer and featuring a young Kevin Bacon. Does the movie that started the franchise hold up after over 40 years? Or is it a boring slog of a movie with dated stereotypes and tropes? Let's find out...Check out Norm on 2 Nerds 1 Quest, and actual play stream.
