Work Out Your Faith: I Want to Go to Church

Season 8, Ep. 2

Welcome to the Unity Baptist Church sermon podcast!

We are in Week two of our series, Work Out Your Faith. This week Senior pastor, Heath Bauer, takes us a little deeper in to Hebrews 12. If someone were to ask you, “What is strength?” What would you say? I believe to have strength, you have to have endurance, and to have endurance you need encouragement. These three ingredients help provide a faith that endures.

If you are in the Ashland, Tri-State area, we would love to see you! More information on how you can connect with us at Unity will follow today’s talk. Here is Heath with today’s message, “I Want to Go to Church.”

    58:59||Season 8, Ep. 31
    Welcome to the Unity Baptist Church sermon podcast!Can we just admit, when you are intentionally parenting your children you have been blessed by God with, the challenge is real. As the American culture makes moral shifts and swings, parents are obligated to make adjustments that will hopefully give their children a solid, healthy foundation to live by. We find in God’s Word, the Bible, what it looks like for a child to honor their parents. Why is it important, and what benefits do we see and experience from it? One thing is for sure. You can never grow too old to honor your father and mother. How are you honoring your parents today? • 29. Set Your Mind

    58:05||Season 8, Ep. 29
    Welcome to the Unity Baptist Church sermon podcast!What is the one thing you seek most in life? Is it wealth? Is it prosperity in everything you do? Is it to be in the best health? Could is be to have a certain possession? In the movie The Lord Of the Rings, Return of the King, we get to see into the life of one of the main characters. Gollum, who once was a man, was so entranced by the ring, he sought it with his life. It literally transformed the man. I recently read, “what you seek after is what controls you.” In 1Peter, he calls believers to be sober-minded - locked in - and to set their hope on Christ and His promises. Today, special guest, Don Wren, leads us into what seeking Christ is about.If you are in the Ashland Tri-State area, we would love to get to know you! • 28. Boundaries of Freedom: Sabbath Rest

    55:14||Season 8, Ep. 28
    Welcome to the Unity Baptist Church sermon podcast!Our Senior Pastor, Heath Bauer, is taking us through a new sermon series called “Boundaries of Freedom.” How many of us can honestly say we have become part of this fast paced - no time for anything else, society? Just the thought of being part of another activity, event, social gathering, sports event, travel team, etc., pours gallons of anxiousness and stressful feelings all over you! What does it look like to rest? What does it look like to step out of our daily routine and take time to rest. If it were up to us, we will fill every hour of our day with “things to do” and run ourselves ragged into the arena of burn-out. Is that what God intended for humanity? What if there was a time He created for us to experience rest? If you are in the Ashland Tri-State area, we would love to get to know you! • 27. Boundaries of Freedom: The Name of God

    58:28||Season 8, Ep. 27
    Welcome to the Unity Baptist Church sermon podcast!This week, Senior Pastor, Heath Bauer is taking us through a new sermon series called “Boundaries of Freedom.” Have you ever wondered why your parents gave you the name you carry today? Your name is part of your identity. The actions you do, the words you say to others, how you present yourself all reflect on your name. What would the middle school you do when your name was made fun of, or mocked? Your name matters. What would you do if God’s name was made of, or mocked? His name is above all names. If you are in the Ashland Tri-State area, we would love to get to know you! More information on how you can connect with Unity will follow today’s talk. • 26. Boundaries of Freedom: No Idols

    01:01:50||Season 8, Ep. 26
    Welcome to the Unity Baptist Church sermon podcast!This week, Senior Pastor, Heath Bauer is taking us through a new sermon series called “Boundaries of Freedom.” If we all can agree on one thing, boundaries help us experience freedom in a heathy environment. When we take those boundaries away, our freedoms are risk of being taken away. Step back with me to the Old Testament in the Bible. When the people of Israel were freed from slavery in Egypt, they were free. They no longer had to follow the rule of Pharaoh. In their freedom, God gave them 10 boundaries that would help them grow closer to Him and lead others around them to a God who saves. As we read often, Israel struggled with their freedom of worship and found themselves drowning in idol worship. What happens when idol worship becomes our freedom of choice?If you are in the Ashland Tri-State area, we would love to get to know you! • 25. Boundaries of Freedom: You shall have no other gods

    53:06||Season 8, Ep. 25
    Welcome to the Unity Baptist Church sermon podcast!This week, Senior Pastor, Heath Bauer takes us into a new sermon series called “Boundaries of Freedom.” Many of us have seen movies or read novels where there was a world wide catastrophe. In the midst of it, there is no law or order that helps protect others. To experience Freedom, there are healthy boundaries. These healthy boundaries help us to live a life free from the dangers of no boundaries. If you are in the Ashland Tri-State area, we would love to get to know you!
