Consumerism 101 - have something that someone else can’t live without. Is it possible to live and not covet? Remember that one of a kind eraser cap that gave the ultimate upgrade to your pencil? Remember the person who stole that eraser cap from you? Having things stolen from you just hits different. It’s personal, and hurts that someone intentionally would treat you like this. What about now? As the American culture makes moral shifts and swings, parents are obligated to make adjustments that will hopefully give their children a solid, healthy foundation to live by. We find in God’s Word, the Bible, what it looks like for a child to honor their parents. Why is it important, and what benefits do we see and experience from it? One thing is for sure. Gollum, who once was a man, was so entranced by the ring, he sought it with his life. It literally transformed the man. I recently read, “what you seek after is what controls you.” In 1Peter, he calls believers to be sober-minded - locked in - and to set their hope on Christ and His promises.
