Smallville did a hell of a job reinstablishing the origins of Clark Kent/Superman as well building it's own law that's become canon across other DC Universes including Superman in the DCU. Considered one of the biggest box office bombs of all time this Antonio Banderas action flick is certainly not up there with McTiernan's best but it's certainly not...the worst movie.
