The 3 Horror Genres that will Rule the 2020's
01:01:22||Season 2, Ep. 8Horror has a complicated relationship with humanity. It is simultaneously a mirror to our thoughts and fears, as well as a genre that can sometimes be shunned and ostracized. Yet one thing is for sure, horror changes as we do. In the 90's it was the slasher craze, in the 00s it was gore p***, in the 2010's it was religious horror. So the question is what will the next big genre be? Will there be another zombie craze? Will Lovecraft come back from the dead? Today we find out on this episode of The Return of the Movie.7. 5 Worst Romance Tropes
58:04||Season 2, Ep. 7Love is a hell of a thing. And so is hate and we hate these tropes. Well not the tropes themselves but the problems that they present when presented as a representation of what love and real relationships are supposed to look like. In truth, romantic stories are some of the most fantastical stories that you will find in any media, and when their target audience is young people, in particular young girls, you can begin to see some horrible standards being set. 00:34|6. Three Tropes that are KILLING ANIME (and three that we like)
45:20||Season 2, Ep. 6We are back with the next half of the season going back to our anime roots to ask the question, "Why is Anime so damn weird?" To put it lightly there are a LOT of reasons, but the main ones boil down to it being made in Japan, and that manga is made on the internet. Ben, Abe, and Jose dive into beloved tropes like the anime scream, and less loved tropes like the "Really 700 Years Old" trope. Join us for this exciting episode of The Return of the Movie. Its Ring of Power time and Scope is back with the theories and analysis with one catch. Abrham knows nothing about The Lord of the Rings. So join Abe as Ben guides him through the world of Middle Earth and Beyond as they discuss Galadriel, the origin of orcs, Elf Racism, and most importantly why the Meteor Man is definitely Sauron and our poor hobbits are probably going to die. 48:48||Season 2, Ep. 5Why are fandoms toxic? Well that is a million-dollar question, isn't it? We all remember Obiwan and Moses Ingram and just how ugly the fan racism was. Add on the problems with the sequel trilogy with John Boyega and Kelly Marie Tran and it becomes quite obvious that the Star Wars fandom has a racism problem. But the question is why does Star Wars, a series about anti-fascism, invite so many racist fans? And how much of shaping the fandom fall on the creators of the properties? Well to answer that we dive into this episode of The Return of the Movie. This episode features Callie from Urban Force and Melanin Muses!Urban Force Trailer: https://youtu.be/BwreC04I-dAUrban Force Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/urbanforce/urban-force?ref=user_menuSubscribe to the channel and hit the bell to be notified of new videos!youtube.com/scopeproductions~Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/scopenetworks/~Twitter: https://twitter.com/Scope_Networks~Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Scopenetworks
