I'm So Not Over It
Holidays! (And the dry, dry summer of June 1995)
•
You join us in Newquay, Cornwall, where we find ourselves at the Celtic Media Festival/Awards. As such, there's a little bit of June 1995 chat, but this is manily about what made a classic '90s UK holiday. Thanks to those of you who got in touch with your own memories of rain, donkeys and nudity. If you haven't already, do drop us a line to imsonotoverit@gmail.com about your holiday experiences - or get in touch via one of the following social media accounts...

St. David's Day with SIAN HARRIES
01:03:34|It's St David's Day!(Or it is on March 1st, so it slightly depends when you listen to this episode). Either way, we've decided to do an episode that is unambiguously and unashamedly Welsh. I mean, they ALL are really, but this time we're going to lean into it - and who better to talk about all things Dewi Sant than the superb Welsh comedy writer SIAN HARRIES!Sian is the co-writer of the hit BBC One comedy-drama Death Valley, Channel 4's Man Down, is one of the writers and stars of BBC One Wales' Tourist Trap and the S4C sketch show O'r Diwedd. She also co-presents The Froth Podcast with Rhod Gilbert. Sian talks us through some of the most miserable meals and uncomfortable costumes you've ever heard about, as well as a blow-by-blow account of the secondary school Eisteddfod experience. There's plenty of picking apart the difference between English-language and Welsh-language Wales, as well as Sian's selection for The Xennial Dome, lots of relevant Winter Olympic discussion and memories of looking sad in a shoe shop at the death of Princess Diana.Sian mentions a school Eisteddfod performance with Elis James - Don't forget you can hear his episode, live from the London Welsh Centre, here. You can get in touch with the show on imsonotoverit@gmail.com or contact us on one of the following...BlueSky: @imsonotoveritInstagram: @imsonotoveritTikTok: @imsonotoveritTheme music by Alex_Kizenkov from Pixabay.I'm So Not Over It is a Mighty Bunny Production.
February 1977 (Morph)
22:17|Hello, can I interest you in some links?Gareth Gwynn at Leicester Comedy Festival on Wednesday!Esyllt and 8 Out Of 10 Celts at Leicester Comedy Festival this week!Esyllt's new podcast - Speaking As A Mother, forever! We're in a cafe again! But don't worry - this time, it's planned. We were on our way to record an episode with the brilliant comedy writer Sian Harries for St David's Day, but before that, we had time for a quick catch-up and a run through the key goings on from February 1977.We briefly mention Fleetwood Mac, a band we've already covered in the episode Little Dome: September 1977 (Atari 2600, Fleetwood Mac, Bing Crosby and David Bowie), but with that out of the way we can get onto the matter of Tony Hart, Pat Keysell, Vision On, Take Hart, Neil Buchanan (the shadow Tony Hart) and, man of the hour, Morph. What do you think an 18+ Morph series should be called? The '80s, The '90s and 50 Jars Of Cow Bits
22:20|First up, some links...Gareth Gwynn at Leicester Comedy FestivalEsyllt and 8 Out Of 10 Celts at Leicester Comedy FestivalEsyllt's new podcast - Speaking As A Mother (I'll give you the Insta link and you can work it out from there). And then the show itself. Well, this one doesn't go to plan. We're live from a cafe in the Tate Britain so this is as much as we could record before we got thrown out. Any more detail than that, right now, is superfluous, save to say, we WILL do another episode from the same location in, I'm guessing, about a year.
1988 (Just 1988)
20:51|Not so much of a "month in history" episode this week, but a whole year as Esyllt Sears tries to sum it all up courtesy of a Guardian quiz. There's a lot more to it than that, but the explanation gets very complicated very quickly so we'll leave it to the podcast. If you like a show which sums up a whole year in one bound, I Can't Get Over 2025 is available on BBC Sounds now and there's even a video clip online, if you want to see the Oakwood Park footage for yourself. The show covers everything from the launch of the Tourist Tax to the closure of Oakwood Park - plus interviews with Father Matt Roache-Saunders on attending the Pope’s funeral in Rome, Wales Women’s football team’s sports therapist Sara Gray on the excitement of the team’s European campaign and cyber security expert Rita from Cybervists on why you should add a special character to your password. It's online for about a week, so be quick! You can get in touch with the show on imsonotoverit@gmail.com or contact us on one of the following...BlueSky: @imsonotoveritInstagram: @imsonotoveritTikTok: @imsonotoveritTheme music by Alex_Kizenkov from Pixabay.I'm So Not Over It (and I Can't Get Over 2025, now you mention it) is a (are) Mighty Bunny Production(s).
Christmas Leftovers IV (I Can't Get Over 2025)
20:34|Happy New Year! Blwyddyn Newydd Dda! It's leftovers time! Don't worry, we've given these a sniff and they're fine.As 2025 drew to a close, the I'm So Not Over It team were busy putting together a look back at 2025 for BBC Radio Wales.I Can't Get Over 2025 is available on BBC Sounds now and there's even a video clip online, if you want to see the Oakwood Park footage for yourself. But we had plenty of time in the BBC Radio Wales studio to cover all kinds of stories, some of which didn't make the final cut - so here's four of them. We've got political jobs, Wales' tallest building, £1 bus fairs and cows in Neath.
December 1978 (End Of Term Vibes)
23:14|I Can't Get Over 2025, our review of the year for BBC Radio Wales, is available on BBC Sounds now! There's an end-of-term feel to this episode as we work our way through Marlon Brando's Superman contract and the (eventual) Christmas Day schedule of 1978. You can get in touch with the show on imsonotoverit@gmail.com or contact us on one of the following...BlueSky: @imsonotoveritInstagram: @imsonotoveritTikTok: @imsonotoveritOne of the reasons we've been rather quiet recently is due to us putting together a look back at 2025 for BBC Radio Wales. I Can't Get Over 2025 (available on BBC Sounds now) covers everything from the launch of the Tourist Tax to the closure of Oakwood Park - plus interviews with guests who were on the ground for some of the year’s most memorable moments. These include Father Matt Roache-Saunders on attending the Pope’s funeral in Rome, Wales Women’s football team’s sports therapist Sara Gray on the excitement of the team’s European campaign and cyber security expert Rita from Cybervists on why you should add a special character to your password. If you're a fan of "I'm So Not Over It" you'll probably be a fan of this - to the extent that in some of the links, I had to edit around myself saying the name of the wrong show. December 1981 (Baby's First Christmas)
21:32|I Can't Get Over 2025, our review of the year for BBC Radio Wales, is available on BBC Sounds now!We are back (after a slightly longer-than-expected absence) with a look back at the winter of 1981. A particularly harsh December inspires stories of driving in the snow - and if you're wondering what sort of vehicles you might have seen on the roads, The Queen was on hand to try and sell you a particular make and model, via her Christmas message. You can read it all here. October 2002 (Again)
10:07|We always intended to come back to October 2002 to mop-up a few loose ends, but perhaps not quite a soon as this. It's a mini leftovers episode today as one of us was incapcable of speaking properly - so here's something we'd put to one side for a future "leftovers" episode - a dash through the key points surrounding black holes. October 2002 (Blue Fritz)
19:43|We go back to 2002 in this episode and discuss chess, something Esyllt Sears has a new found enthusiasm for. Turns out this year was a fairly big one for the whole chess scene. Meanwhile, if you want to find out what Gareth Gwynn was up to around the same time, he's given a run-down here.Get in touch on imsonotoverit@gmail.com or contact us on one of the following...BlueSky: @imsonotoveritInstagram: @imsonotoveritTikTok: @imsonotoveritTheme music by Alex_Kizenkov from Pixabay.I'm So Not Over It is A Mighty Bunny Production.
