This week, we’re breaking down Super Bowl LIX—but let’s be real, the biggest topic wasn’t the game. Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show had all the right elements on paper: deep messages, artistic visuals, and a major stage. But did it actually deliver? Or was it too abstract for a Super Bowl audience that just wanted to be entertained?Then, we shift to a lawsuit making headlines—Detroit rapper Dank DeMoss is suing Lyft, claiming a driver denied her a ride because of her weight. It’s sparked conversations about discrimination, personal responsibility, and whether ride-share companies should be held accountable for driver decisions.And while Black celebrities have been stacking awards, breaking records, and dominating pop culture, the everyday reality for most Black Americans remains the same—or worse. Are these wins really for the culture, or are they just a distraction from the real struggles people are facing?

The apartment hunt continues, and at this point, I’m convinced landlords are just making up prices as they go. Why is finding a decent place to live harder than winning the lottery? Send help.Meanwhile, Trump’s executive orders have us all in shambles—because, of course, the best way to "fix" things is to make them significantly worse. The policies, the chaos, the ripple effects—it’s giving disaster, and we need to talk about it.Then, let’s get real about DEI. Companies love to slap those three letters on everything for good PR, but what’s actually going on behind the scenes? Because if it’s just a diversity brochure and a meaningless statement, it’s not giving what they think it is.And speaking of things that aren’t giving—performative activism. If your "solidarity" starts and ends with a black square on Instagram or a vague email about "standing together," please spare us. We see right through it.
