Actress Liz Priestley ("Concrete Cowboy")!
Liz has played lots of roles since "Concrete Cowboy" and of course, will be playing more in the near future, too! But she was such a pleasure to speak withas you can tell from all the giggling!
_______________________________________________________________________________________________
True story: Within 5 minutes of meeting on Zoom, Liz and I were already giggly. She liked my Paul McCartney impression, too. Or, maybe someone spiked my yak milk, I'm not sure. Liz is the type of person that you can't help but root for. She brought such a down-to-earth quality to the Screening Room, and she definitely likes to laugh. Nothing wrong with that, Rebels! I just have this sense that you'll be seeing her in even bigger projects further along in her career. Call it a hunch. Or a pimple. It depends how far away you are. But back to Liz. How many actresses get a role opposite Idris Elba in their first movie role? So far, I'm counting one. So be sure to check out "Concrete Cowboy" when it debuts on Netflix. I'm looking forward to it. And if I talk back to the screen, it will be in a Liverpudlian accent. Thanks for coming on the show, Liz!

8. Author Craig McGuire ("Empire City Under Siege") on the FBI vs. the Mafia!
35:34||Season 15, Ep. 8Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at the FBI? (No, not "federal bikini inspector", you with the hat.) Craig spent quite a bit of time with Agent Anthony Nelson and got quite the education. Craig said he'd ask Anthony if he would come on the show at a later date, and he is more than welcome to visit The Sherpa Chalet! There are lots of incredible stories in this book that us civilians would find amazing, but to the Feds, it's "just another day on the job". So check out the episode, along with the link to Craig's work (below), and support your local and national law enforcement,ok? Thanks, Craig for coming on the show! Here's the link to Craig's books-lots of interesting stuff here! https://tinyurl.com/2dy4nsjb(btw, Craig didn't have any social media pages at the time of this recording...if only I was THAT smart!Programming note: Catch "Sherpa Selects" on Saturdays. 7. Cold Cases! With Dr. Alyce Clark (Author,"The Forgotten Girls")!
27:32||Season 15, Ep. 7During the course of our interview, Dr. Clark made a statement that was so powerful in its simplicity, when it comes to cold cases: "Talk about it." Those three words are an inspiring reminder that there could be information that leads to these cold cases being solved. Her book covers the lives of numerous young women whose lives came to a sudden end, with no clear explanation. One can only hope that there will be someone who talk about these cases to shed new light onto their investigations. Her book gives these victims the dignity and humanity that they deserve, while presenting what is known about their cases. Be sure to check it out and hear what she has to say in this interview-it's fascinating stuff! 17. Podcaster/ Journalist Katherine Brodsky ("Mind The Future")!!
45:12||Season 5, Ep. 17Alas, no new episodes of "Mind the Future" are around, but from what I got to know about Katherine, she's probably got a really cool project going on. Off-mic, she paid me probably one of the best compliments I've ever received-that I would have made a good journalist. What? You thought she was going to say I wasn't as hideous as she expected? Dream on, you with the hat!_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________What a great Christmas present for an interview! Soooo much fun talking with Katherine, who's got too many talents ("Too Many Talents!" Does the Sherpa smell a podcast sequel?) that I can list in this space. I don't think I've had a guest who's discussed blowing things up, Mel Brooks' chair, making the Dalai Lama laugh, Jazz hands, and a podcast discussing the future...until now! I'm happy to report that no pigeons were harmed with Katherine's water gun during the recording of this episode. And be sure to check out " Mind The Future" while you're at it, okay? 6. "Songcraft-Spotlight on Songwriters" (Listen To This!) w/ Scott B. Bomar & Paul Duncan!
02:02:32||Season 15, Ep. 6Rebels, I'm not quite sure why I kept on saying "spotlight on songwriting" and not "spotlight on songwriters", given how long I've been listening to this podcast, and have heard essentially all of their episodes. I'm blaming it on small print. Or the Mandela Effect (Bobby Mandela kept throwing things at me during the interview). Or locusts. It was locusts! Oh,sorry, now I'm quoting "The Blues Brothers" movie. (Either way, sorry, guys!) But this is a podcast featuring two long time buddies with a combined HUGE list of accomplishments between them. My biggest accomplishment so far? Making waffles and not burning the Sherpa Chalet down. (No comment on other peoples' homes...) But Scott and Paul were just as much fun on this podcast as they are on theirs, as you will plainly hear! They're lucky to be co-hosts that perfectly complement each others' styles. If I had a co-host, I think weapons would have to be involved. Anyway, thanks so much to the guys for coming on the show, and for loaning me their episode featuring an interview with.....well, you'll just have to listen, now, won't you?" 16. Podcaster/ Private Detective Sarah Alcorn ("Ivy League Murders")!
40:34||Season 5, Ep. 16Loving your true crime? You can still catch Sarah and Laura (who, unfortunately, couldn't be in this interview) on "Ivy League Murders", which is really fascinating. This was a fun and interesting interview!_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________I got to speak to two amazing ladies this week, Rebels, and these interviews were so fascinating.! Today, I had the pleasure of speaking with Sarah Alcorn, a PI, who co-hosts this true crime podcast. The lady really knows alot about crime, and about PI work. So be careful out there-she might be working on a case and in disguise! She dishes on the real life of a private investigator, and how it stacks up against what you see on tv and in the movies. It's so cool that she uses her skills to solve mysteries, and I'm sure her results speak for themselves. Be sure to check out "Ivy League Murders with Sarah and Elizabeth. It's definitely an interestingtwist on your basic trus crime podcast. 5. Author Jennifer Carr ("Still Holding Out For You")!
33:57||Season 15, Ep. 5Initially, I received an email from Jennifer apologizing for not seeing my request for an interview from a few months back. (That's the LAST time I email in invisible ink...) But hey, life happens, and this was very much worth the wait! You'll see in this interview that she's very lively and a fun guest to talk with, right off the bat. She let me know that "Roll ,Tide" is a proper greeting for folks for Alabama, but not "War Eagle." (It's a sports thing, Rebels. Honestly, I don't know much about croquet, anyway. ) But whatever team you are rooting for, have a listen to a really fun interview. 15. Sports Podcaster John Orlando ("PVDcast")!
43:47||Season 5, Ep. 15You can still hear new episodes of "PVDcast", which is great news about another podcast that survived COVID! But this throwback is definitely a fun one. I think he still does "Mat Talk." But is Kathy Bates mentioned in it??? See for yourself!_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This was a fun interview, Rebels. I felt John was a really interesting guest, and I'm glad you get to hear this interview. I, too, had aspirations of becoming a pro wrestler, but I kept putting the mask on backwards. Which made walking to the ring quite a challenge. But John, nonetheless, made a career in the wrestling biz, being the voice of various wrestling organizations. Now he's got not only a podcast about stuff he likes, but he and (spoiler alert:future guest) Jason Taylor host the popular "Mat Talk." Which isn't about wrestling, but about Matlock. Talk about extremes, huh? Wait, there might have been that one episode where Andy Griffith leapt off the top rope to prove someone's innocence. No? See what happens when you have an overload of useless information in your head? Anyway, Thanks to John for stopping by!John's info: Website: pvdcast.com, Facebook, Instagram: @pvdcast,Twitter @pvdmvp Mat Talk: Facebook: @mattalkpodcast John's faves: Jim Cornette Experience, The Lapsed Fan, Park After Dark.Sherpa Suggestions (Podcasts with Rants):The Reformed RantWeb's Weekly Wrestling RantRant While Driving to WorkRant on by Ranting MediaJust Add WaterCome Rant with MwThe Dad RantRants and RevelationThe Talentless PodcastFollow the show on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram at @Sherpalution, and check out my website, sherpalution.com , for older episodes, Sherpa Sheets, and Spotify playlists. 4. Meet Entrepreneur Oksana Kolesnikova!
34:24||Season 15, Ep. 4We really don't hear too many stories about "The American Dream" anymore. As I mention in the intro, Oksana's story comes as close as you'd expect to it. From a musical talent in Siberia to an amazing business in Los Angeles, it's certainly been an interesting road for her. And you'll hear about it in this interview. Granted, I don't normally do episodes about businesses, but hey, last week's with Arthur Frischman ("The Long Island Sign Guy") was about a guy with a business who became a viral sensation on social media. Will that happen for Oksana? I guess it's a wait and see for that, but I certainly wouldn't bet against what this lady can do.
