The Mid•Point with Gabby Logan
Ade Adepitan MBE
Paralympic medallist turned broadcaster, Ade Adepitan MBE, chats to Gabby about his journey to the midpoint and why family life came a little bit later for him. Ade shares how sport completely changed his life - giving him a new found freedom as a young disabled person - and describes the single-mindedness required to be an athlete and compete at the highest levels in wheelchair basketball. He talks openly about becoming estranged from his parents, living alone from the age of 17, but how time allowed for the healing that ultimately led to a beautiful reconciliation with his parents. Ade also speaks frankly about the realities of life as a wheelchair user and why he was concerned about his children being born with a disability, in spite of all he has done and achieved in his life. They discuss why a challenge that’s your own personal choice can be so rewarding, and why Ade believes a win-a-day is so vital to our wellbeing and sense of self. Ade’s story is one of determination, resilience, and hope; and this episode is not to be missed.
