The insuleoin Podcast - Redefining Diabetes
#48: Resistance/Weight Training and Type 1 Diabetes.
•
In this week’s episode of The insuleoin Podcast Eoin jumps into a topic he absolutely loves - resistance/weight training!
This episode being the end of the three part fitness trilogy of Cardio, HIIT and Resistance Training, Eoin and Graham wanted to finish it with their favourite style of training.
From the previous two episodes, we now know the impacts and benefits of Cardio and HIIT on our blood sugar, but how will resistance training influence our levels?
Eoin outlines that resistance training is the most beneficial way to train in relation to regulating blood sugar levels. He jokingly claims that ‘when we’re diagnosed we should get an insulin pen and a gym membership’.
Eoin and Graham chat about why you should be resistance training if you’re living with Type 1 Diabetes, what occurs in your body when you workout, what to expect from your blood sugar during this type of exercise, how to keep your levels stable when training, and much more!
As always, be sure to rate, comment, subscribe and share. Your interaction and feedback really helps the podcast. The more Diabetics that we reach, the bigger impact we can make!
