New Fire Station Urgently Needed on Inis Mór

Deputy John Connolly is advocating for a new fire station on Inis Mór, one of the Aran Islands, due to the current stations inadequacies. The current facility lacks proper space for vehicles and equipment, and basic changing areas for staff. Connolly has requested that a new station be added to the Councils capital plan for the year 2030. Meanwhile, other areas in Galway have seen progress with their fire station projects, and the Council is looking to prioritize new stations in Galway City, Portumna, and Ballinasloe. The focus is on ensuring Inis Mórs critical need for a modern fire station doesnt get overlooked.
