Galways Thirteen Honorees at Conference Ambassador Recognition Awards: Trevor Ó Clochartaigh, Rhodri Ceredig, Matt Griffin, Abigail Colleran, JP McMahon, Glenn Nolan, Pat Lonergan, Jennifer Davidson, Tokie Laotan-Brown, Keith Finnegan, Chaosheng Zhang, Amanda McCloat, and Helen Maguire received special recognition for their efforts in bringing major international events to the area. These events, covering topics from environmental issues to culinary arts, generated an estimated €117 million for the Irish economy between 2023 and 2024. Professor Cathal Gurrin was named Conference Ambassador of the Year, securing conferences worth €6.4 million since 2011. Since 2009, Irelands Conference Ambassador Programme has supported nearly 3,500 leaders, securing conferences valued at approximately €2.9 billion, bringing significant economic, social, and environmental benefits.
