Today Iām chatting with Dr Dani Gordon. Canadian, British and American Board Qualified Medical doctor and author of āThe CBD Bibleā and the forthcoming āThe Resilience Blueprintā .Ā
She has treated thousands of patients with medical cannabis, trained some of the first UK cannabis physicians and now runs a UK based medical practice focused on Integrative & Cannabinoid Medicine.Ā
Dani has been on the pod before when we did a hugely popular series on CBD, so definitely check that out if you havenāt listened already.
Today we chat about:
- An overview of CBD and its chemical constituents
- CBD and coffee
- The mood stabilising effect of CBD for mental health
- What to look for in a CBD product
- Uses of other classified drugsĀ
But first, I also have a quick chat with Dr Michael Dixon, chairman of the college of medicine and his CV is about as long as the podcast! Having graduated in psychology and philosophy at Oxford University he studied medicine at Guyās Hospital. Since 1984 he has been a general practitioner at College Surgery in Cullompton, Devon. In 2008, he and his partners created the āCulm Valley Integrated Centre for Healthā, which is widely regarded as a prototype for general practice of the future.
Since the early 1990s, he has been a leader of the GP/clinical commissioning movement with its aim of allowing frontline clinicians a far greater role in improving local services and health. Since 2007, he has been visiting professor to the University of Westminster (Integrated School of Health) and was also appointed visiting professor of University College, London in 2012. He is a regular writer and broadcaster, having written several books including āThe Human Effect in Medicineā and is a former president of the Health Writers Guild.
Michael and his team were pivotal in creating this conference that brought together a huge collection of varied professionals and frankly Iām counting the days till the next one.

Can ayurveda improve your health with food, herbs and daily routines? | Dr Vijay Murthy
02:11:45|Thereās a fascinating ancient system of medicine called Ayurveda, originating in India over 3,000 years ago, that has helped millions of people tune into their bodies through simple food, daily rhythms and plants.I grew up thinking it was just a set of beliefs and traditions, but my guest today really challenged that. What I came to understand is that Ayurveda is actually a codified system of observations and experiments, documented, debated and written in Sanskrit texts. My guest is Dr Vijay Murthy, an internationally acclaimed integrative physician who blends Ayurveda with modern, evidence-based medicine. He has over 30 years of clinical experience and regularly publishes in peer-reviewed journals.Whatās remarkable is that many of the practices we unpack today closely mirror what modern research now tells us about gut health, lifestyle medicine and nutrition. This conversation genuinely made me reflect on my own daily routines in a different way. And there are a couple of simple practices in here that you might want to try for yourself. We cover:Ā What Ayurveda actually isDaily routines and living in sync with natural cyclesHow to identify your dominant dosha and what it meansHow Ayurveda can support gut health and digestionHow to eat according to Ayurvedic food principlesĀ What an Ayurvedic breakfast looks likeĀ Key herbs used in Ayurveda for digestion, blood sugar, thyroid health, skin and hairĀ How to choose high-quality herbs and avoid contaminantsš¬ Watch the podcast on YouTube hereš± Download The Doctorās Kitchen appš View full show notes, including guest details, on our websiteāļø Try Exhale Coffee hereš„ Join the newsletter and receive a 7 day meal planš· Follow on Instagram
