Ep 11 - Robots | Big Boy Parts Not Included

Season 1

The Cinefools are off to Robot City to chase their dreams! To make a podcast on Blue Sky's animated feature, Robots (2005)! Not the most ambitious dream we know, but we saw a need and we filled it goddamnit! Join us and witness the overbearing power of the domino effect, as the opening scene and its blatant sexual undertones births an unforgiving chain reaction, setting the precedent for a weirdly sexually suggestive episode of the podcast.

We talk about other things though, we promise.

  • Ep 13 - Evil Dead Trilogy | Good? Bad? Raimi's the Guy With the Fun

    01:39:58||Season 1
    With their chainsaws and boomsticks at the ready, the Cinefools are biting off more than the usual chew this week, covering not just one, but an entire trilogy of films, Sam Raimi's cult classic Evil Dead Trilogy! (1981's The Evil Dead, 1987's Evil Dead II and 1992's Army of Darkness) Not solely a horror series teeming with gut-wrenching scares, a surplus of gore, demonic spirits and hair-raising violence, but a comedic one too, with a healthy balance of absurdist humour, wacky antics, eyebrow raising one liners and an over-the-top groovy style that'll have you possessed with amusement. Forewarning however, whatever you do, do NOT read the ... the … what was it? It's an n-word. It's definitely an n-word. THE NECRONOMICON EX-MORTIS! Unless you want to be taunted and haunted by demonic spirits…and *checks notes* molested by a tree? . . . rightio. Timecodes:Introduction / Overall Thoughts (0:00-31:43)The Evil Dead (31:44-43:53)Evil Dead II (43:54-56:00)Army of Darkness (56:01-1:19:17)Post Thoughts / Conclusion / Retrospective (1:19:18-1:24:40)Fibia (1:24:41-1:36:53)Wind Down / End (1:36:54-1:39:58)Keep up with the Cinefools Community:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecinefools/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thecinefoolsTwitter: https://twitter.com/thecinefoolsYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TheCinefools Email us at thecinefoolspodcast@gmail.com
  • Ep 12 - Moon (2009) | Not Just One Starman Waiting in This Sky

    01:36:08||Season 1
    ://NASA//TRANSMISSION:LOG://[22] It's been a while now. 22 weeks trapped in a room with nothing but each other and a microphone. The isolation and loneliness at full throttle. Unable to harvest any purpose beyond the echo chamber we had subjected ourselves to. We were reaching our wits end. What were we trying to achieve? Who are the Cinefools? But like a shining star in the night sky, Duncan Jones' directorial debut, the critically praised sci-fi original, 2009's Moon came to the rescue. Our passion returned, our mission clear. The Cinefools were here to watch, discuss and learn about films. And that we did. So please join us as we discuss the Sam Rockwell, Sam Rockwell, Sam Rockwell, Sam Rockwell and Kevin Spacey starring film 'Moon', including but not limited to its 1970s and 80s sci-fi influences, the making of the film, clones and our overall thoughts, does Moon rock…well, stay tuned to find out. :///TRANSMISSION:TERMINATED://[22]Moon Discussion / Breakdown (00:00-1:25:01)Fibia (1:25:02-1:32:25)Wind Down / End (1:32:26-1:35:38)Keep up with the Cinefools Community:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecinefools/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thecinefoolsTwitter: https://twitter.com/thecinefoolsYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TheCinefools Email us at thecinefoolspodcast@gmail.com
  • Ep 10 - Chef | Not for the Empty of Stomach

    02:00:27||Season 1
    9 weeks ago Jordan and Jacob started a podcast. Somewhere in those 63 days the Cinefools were scooped up by the unrelenting studio system. But they escaped. And just as Jon Favreau did with his 2014 indie darling 'Chef', (in which he directed, wrote, co-produced and starred in) they have reconnected with their roots. Talking about another film that seems to be (in more ways than one) a semi-autobiographical tale of its creator (JUST LIKE EPISODE 1). So get those grills pre-heated, your corn starch at the ready, and please, for the love of all that is good and holy, eat something. Because this is not a film (or episode) you will be able to stomach running on empty. • Ep 9 - Coraline | Horror's Gateway Drug for Kids

    01:43:21||Season 1
    Welcome to the world beyond that weird little door behind the cabinet in your dining room. A world similar to your own, with one key difference. No Cinefools. Stay here with us as we discuss the Henry Selick written and directed, stop-motion animated masterpiece, 'Coraline' (2009). Please. We promise everything here is totally normal, structured and professional. No foolishness. Why would you go back? Why willingly listen to two idiots talk about the magic of stop-motion, antagonising children, disneyland parents, nepotism, attractive animated characters and more? They aren't even in agreement on whether or not Coraline's mother is a good person! We promise we definitely won't sew buttons into your eyes.Timecodes:Introduction / Background (00:00-16:07)Coraline Discussion / Breakdown (16:08-1:34:47)Fibia (1:34:38-1:41:15)Wind Down / End (1:41:16-1:43:22)Keep up with the Cinefools Community:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecinefools/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thecinefoolsTwitter: https://twitter.com/thecinefoolsYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TheCinefoolsEmail us at thecinefoolspodcast@gmail.com
  • Ep 8 - The Wizard of Oz | A Not So Colourful Tale of Wonder and Whimsy

    01:48:16||Season 1
    This week we are whisked away to the land over the rainbow, The Land of Oz, a place free of trouble . . . right? . . . Wrong! The Yellow Brick Road isn't as merry as it sounds, filled with exploding witches, hanging Munchkins, and a poisoned Tin Man, Oh My! Join us as we discuss 1939's 'The Wizard of Oz', its original children's novel (By L. Frank Baum), Technicolour and the questionable message it all wraps up with. Let's face the daunt of this journey ahead with courage and open our hearts to the whimsical magic of movie making, all while fighting that natural foolishness that lies dormant in our brains, because we've got a Wizard to see and we hear he's wonderful.Timecodes:Introduction / Background (00:00-19:32)Wizard of Oz Discussion / Breakdown (19:33-1:34:10)Book v. • Ep 7 - Cars | Certainly Not An Empty Cup

    02:21:46||Season 1
    Fasten your seatbelts and tighten those lug nuts because Jordan and Jacob are taking you on a nostalgic drive down Route 66 to have a Ka-Chat about Pixar's 2006 animated feature, 'Cars'. This week the pair aren't taking any shortcuts as we discuss the making of the film from the roaring passion and attention to detail behind every frame to the real-world inspirations for the film's narrative. And the usual foolishness of course . . . the dirty jokes, the head scratching logistics of the 'Cars' universe and Lightning McQueen's awe-inspiring journey as he becomes a supporter of small businesses. We guarantee by the end that this will be a road-trip thats worth the journey. So sit back, enjoy the ride and Rest-Eze-y, knowing you're in good hands.Timecodes:Introduction (00:00-24:09)Cars Discussion/Breakdown (24:10-2:06:20)Fibia (2:06:21-2:16:14)Wind Down/End (2:16:15-2:21:46)Keep up with the Cinefools Community:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecinefools/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thecinefoolsTwitter: https://twitter.com/thecinefoolsYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TheCinefoolsEmail us at thecinefoolspodcast@gmail.com
  • Ep 6 - The Maltese Falcon | The Film That Questions Are Made of

    01:52:27||Season 1
    Go on, get your hats! Because Jordan and Jacob are heading back to the 1940s to watch John Huston's 1941 Noir/Crime film, 'The Maltese Falcon'. Join us in our hunt for the answers behind questions of greed and power, chaos and order, love and lust, truth and lies . . . and why exactly people from 1941 talk like that. Will this episode contain the rarest of jewels and gold? Or perhaps we will be steered astray, only to find a dull lead in its core. Either way, the journey is sure to be quite the foolish one.Timecodes:Introduction (00:00-02:24)The Maltese Falcon Discussion (02:25-1:23:41)Quotes (1:23:42-1:33:42)Fibia (1:33:45-1:46:34)Jacob Recommends Something to Jordan / End (1:46:35-1:52:28)Keep up with the Cinefools Community:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecinefools/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thecinefoolsTwitter: https://twitter.com/thecinefoolsYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TheCinefoolsEmail us at thecinefoolspodcast@gmail.com
  • Ep 5 - Stuart Little | Cat-and-Mouse with a *Little* Twist!

    01:33:55||Season 1
    "Little high, little low! Little hey, little ho!" scream Jordan and Jacob as they welcome you to the Little House to discuss a strange film, Stuart Little, adapted from an even stranger book (By E. B. White). Where only an out of touch, upper class family would think of adopting a mouse. And only two fools would dare attempt to discuss the social commentary of this. But hey, It's New York, forget about it!
