With their chainsaws and boomsticks at the ready, the Cinefools are biting off more than the usual chew this week, covering not just one, but an entire trilogy of films, Sam Raimi's cult classic Evil Dead Trilogy! (1981's The Evil Dead, 1987's Evil Dead II and 1992's Army of Darkness) Not solely a horror series teeming with gut-wrenching scares, a surplus of gore, demonic spirits and hair-raising violence, but a comedic one too, with a healthy balance of absurdist humour, wacky antics, eyebrow raising one liners and an over-the-top groovy style that'll have you possessed with amusement. 9 weeks ago Jordan and Jacob started a podcast. Somewhere in those 63 days the Cinefools were scooped up by the unrelenting studio system. But they escaped. And just as Jon Favreau did with his 2014 indie darling 'Chef', (in which he directed, wrote, co-produced and starred in) they have reconnected with their roots. Talking about another film that seems to be (in more ways than one) a semi-autobiographical tale of its creator (JUST LIKE EPISODE 1). So get those grills pre-heated, your corn starch at the ready, and please, for the love of all that is good and holy, eat something.
