Emma Hågemo on the Business Community’s Role in Creating a More Equal Work Place

In this episode, we are delighted to have as guest Emma Hågemo, the Vice President Global R&D & Head of Asia Commercial Division, at SwedCham member Oriflame Cosmetics. She is a business- and strategy-oriented R&D leader with a background in McKinsey and almost 15 years of experience in the cosmetics industry. Along with SwedCham’s launch of #Candid: 100 perspectives on Gender Equality, Emma suggested that Swedish companies in Singapore should join forces in a pledge to double up on paternity leave from two (government-sponsored in Singapore) to four weeks. In this episode, Emma will talk about her views on paternity leave, how it has benefitted her professionally and how it could benefit Swedish companies in the region.

Part two - The Launch of Swedish Chamber of Commerce’s First Cross-industry Female Mentorship Program in Singapore

Season 2, Ep. 4
In episode 3, our guests are Zoe Cheng and Göran Seifert who are participating in the Swedish Chamber of Commerce´s first cross-industry female mentorship program that was launched together with SwedCham Member Capa Consulting. This program aims to create a solid cross-industry network and a professional sounding board for female rising stars in SwedCham’s business community and to raise the bar for female leadership development in Singapore. In the second part of this episode, we will meet Göran Seifert, one of seven mentors within SwedCham’s female mentorship program. During his long career, he has performed roles such as head of regions, chairman and non-executive board member at a number of MNCs, and has encountered many issues with regards to gender equality. Göran will talk about his views on gender balance, female leadership and how we can encourage female professionals to reach higher positions within their companies. He will point out what he considers to be the main challenges and how can we overcome them.

Zoe is working as a Service Manager for Scania in Singapore and she will share her perspective on female leadership and the importance for companies to invest in developing female leaders. Zoe will also share her views on how it is to work as a female leader in the automotive industry and provide us with valuable insights into how female professionals can succeed in a leadership role in male-dominant industries.

Introduction of #Candid: 100 Perspectives on Gender Equality in Singapore

Season 2, Ep. 1
In this episode, our guests are Lisa Ferraton, the General Manager at SwedCham Singapore and Carolina Rodriquez, Director at Dilucidar and Head of SwedCham’s Sustainability Committee. Lisa Ferraton will give her perspective on what implications the pandemic had on the Swedish Chamber of Commerce and its work in Singapore and how they had to adapt to a completely “new normal”. Lisa and Carolina will both how the idea came up to do an initiative focusing on gender equality, which resulted in the book and digital campaign #Candid: 100 perspectives on gender equality as well as a pledge for MNCs to double up on paternity leave in Singapore.This podcast is produced by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Singapore.
