EP12: Football Manager, Karl Robinson (Oxford Utd, Charlton, MK Dons)

Season 2, Ep. 12

Hello! Thanks for coming back :)

If you're here, that means you're back to listen to another episode of The Stress Sessions - so, thanks!

This week, I'm speaking to football manager, Karl Robinson, who at the age of just 29, was appointed manager of MK Dons (Milton Keynes Dons for those of you who don't follow football!) - becoming the YOUNGEST EVER manager in English football. He's since gone on to manage Charlton Athletic, and currently manages Oxford United.

Yes, this is a pretty football-heavy episode, but it's well worth a listen - whether you're a football fan, are suffering from a mental illness, or live in and around the region of Milton Keynes.

In this episode, Karl and I speak about:

  • Dealing with criticism in his role (again, at a VERY young age - some of the players he was managing were a lot older than him).
  • Not being on ANY social media platforms.
  • How he feels the physical and mental health of his players at Oxford United are totally equal (we talk quite a lot about what his club does in terms of mental wellbeing).
  • Becoming the youngest ever manager in English football.

So, sit back, relax and grab yourself a hot drinks and listen to Episode 12, Series Two of The Stress Sessions with football manager, Karl Robinson!

--------

If you enjoy the episode or any of the others, please share with friends, family, or anyone who you think they may help.

Thanks and have a great week.

Luke

On a side note, I'm not a professional in this field, nor do I claim to be. These podcasts are purely based on my own, personal experiences, and those of my guests, alongside some simple hints and tips along the way.

If you are suffering from a mental illness, there are lots of amazing charities that will be able to help you by offering professional advice. You'll be able to find these here
