Breaking Through: Mindsets, Energy & Resilience with Catana Malinowski
**This podcast contains adult conversation with sensitive matter.**
On today's episode, I welcome 2x international best-selling author, podcast host, award-winning professional artist, coach, speaker and activist, Catana L. Malinowski. Her latest book, "Why Are You Happy?" is a heartwarming story about a little blue whale named Happy who gets caught in some challenging situations but remembers to remain calm and through it all, he learns how to be more resilient.
Catana and I discuss blockages, the conscious and unconscious mindsets and energies like fear, judgment, perfectionism, etc. that can keep us stuck and prevent us from moving forward in life. Catana shares a lot of her own story and how she was able to keep going and break through many of her own blockages by becoming aware of what they were, being curious, open, and willing to challenge herself and adapt. Learning to love ourselves is key to overcoming those barriers and blockages in our lives.
"I learned to love myself which is probably the best gift ever because that also unloaded many blocks. I walked through the shadows. I went into those dark spaces of mine from the past that I was afraid to ever talk about and I gave it love and I gave it acceptance because it was about getting me to here; keeping me safe, protecting me. No judgment, no right or wrong. I was learning where I was seeing those as weaknesses and finding the strengths in there."
Catana mentioned our mutual friend, Katie, who helped her realize her creativity block with her art for the past few years.
Katie loves to help people clear their creative blocks.

17. Understanding Your Inner Guidance System with Michelle Wollaston
01:02:48||Season 4, Ep. 17Is it Discomfort or a Sign? Understanding Your Inner Guidance Systemwith Michelle WollastonIn this soulful and insightful episode, I’m joined by Michelle Wollaston — writer, spiritual advocate, and host of The Soul Loom Podcast. Michelle brings a deep and compassionate approach to helping women who’ve spent years over-functioning in roles, relationships, or workplaces that left them feeling invisible. Through her unique blend of grounded coaching and soul-level wisdom, she guides women back to their intuition, voice, and vitality — without spiritual bypassing or burnout. We dive into the concept of the Comfort Meter — Michelle’s way of helping people understand that discomfort is often your intuition trying to speak. Whether it shows up as a subtle whisper or a loud wake-up call, these feelings are often signs from your body, soul, or the universe that something isn’t aligned. We explore how fear, especially the fear of change, can cloud our clarity and how taking small empowered steps can help you move from anxiety into trust. Michelle shares practical tools for tuning in, including reflection prompts, boundary-setting, and learning to recognize patterns that keep repeating until we finally listen. This conversation is all about learning to trust your inner signals — not just in the big, obvious moments, but in the small, quiet nudges too. Michelle reminds us that everything we need is already within us — and that imperfect action, intuitive awareness, and self-compassion are powerful tools for transformation.Key Takeaways:Discomfort is a signal — pay attention to even the small nudges.Taking baby steps builds empowerment and helps you trust your intuition.Boundaries, reflection, and grounding practices keep you aligned with your inner guidance."Anything that is meant to happen for you, will happen for you seamlessly. And if they don't happen perfectly and there are bumps in the road, what is the bump for? There is usually always a pattern to the bumps." - Michelle WollastonThe book Michelle mentioned:"Women Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype" - by Clarissa Pinkola Estes⭐ Connect with Michelle: Linktree: https://linktr.ee/michellewollastonFree guides for woman who feel like they’ve lost themselves in the life they built:https://www.michellewollaston.com/stephup-come-home-to-the-woman-within Discount Code for 90 minute 1:1 session with Michelle normally A$247 – enter code at checkout STEPHUP $47 discount. How the Tao Te Ching Helps Us Heal
57:13||Season 4, Ep. 15Hello my Lovelies! How the Tao Te Ching Helps Us Heal: Recovery, Non-Duality & Letting Go with MartinJon GarciaIn this deeply reflective and philosophical episode, I’m joined by MartinJon Garcia—Recovery Mentor, author, and host of the Tao of the Day podcast. With over 24 years of sobriety, MartinJon shares how the Tao Te Ching became a transformative tool in his recovery journey. We explore the Tao not as a rigid doctrine, but as an experiential philosophy that invites us into self-awareness, non-duality, and the surrender of certainty. “You are Tao. I am Tao,” he says—reminding us that we all walk unique paths toward understanding, and that true wisdom begins when we admit we don’t know.Together, we reflect on Tao #71 from MartinJon’s own translation—To Know We Don’t Know:To be aware that one does not know is healthy for all things.Avoiding awareness of this is a current plague.By acknowledging you have been infectedYou can become aware and move toward healing. The Master has cured herselfShe is aware that she does not know. She is healthy in all aspects. This teaching sparked a powerful discussion about the current "plague" of false certainty, the trap of confirmation bias, and how humility is the gateway to clarity and healing. MartinJon emphasizes that when we let go of needing to be right, we make space for true freedom and transformation. The Tao becomes a lens to live more reasonably—where we no longer try to force others or ourselves to change, but instead surrender to what is and act with awareness. This episode is both grounding and expansive, especially for those navigating healing, recovery, or deconstructing rigid belief systems. If you’ve ever felt discomfort in uncertainty or a deep yearning to live more aligned and present, this conversation offers gentle wisdom, a soft challenge, and a fresh path forward."When you don't have to do the right thing, you do the thing that's right for you. We have stripped people of their self worth, their faith in themselves and we've all looked to products; the greed that is around us. But the freedom you have within your grasp is immense." - MartinJon Garcia Connect with MartinJon:https://www.martinjon.com/Link to Tao Te Ching:https://www.martinjon.com/product-page/tao-te-chingFB:https://www.facebook.com/MartinJonArtIG: https://www.instagram.com/martinjonYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@MartinJonGarciaLinkedIN:https://www.linkedin.com/in/martinjonrecoveryourself/#martinjongarcia #tao #taoism #podcasting #podcastconversations #healingjourney #recoveryjourney #recoverymentor #taooftheday #stephuppodcast Music: Inspiring Space Coffee by Audio Coffeehttps://www.audiocoffee.net/If you find comfort and hope in my content, and if you feel so led, I appreciate your support at Buy Me A Coffee:https://buymeacoffee.com/stephanieannwebb14. Age Is Just A Number: Wisdom Is Timeless
01:12:26||Season 4, Ep. 11Episode 11: Age Is Just a Number, Wisdom Is TimelessGuest: Sicily GooseIn this episode, I sit down with my dear friend and podcast producer, Sicily Goose—a woman in her 30s whose depth and insight often leave people assuming she’s much older. We explore what it really means to carry wisdom at a young age and how Sicily’s upbringing, surrounded by elders and a large extended family, helped shape her grounded perspective. From reading encyclopedias as a kid to understanding generational trauma and generational gifts, Sicily offers reflections on how true wisdom isn't about having all the answers—it's about knowing you don’t.We also dive into everything from social media algorithms and the law of attraction to race, perception, and how listening with openness can be a radical act. Sicily shares how she’s been misjudged, how she handles those judgments, and what it means to walk through life without weaponizing anger. Through laughter, honesty, and unexpected realizations, this conversation is a reminder that wisdom isn’t earned only through age, but through awareness, curiosity, and connection."Old ways don't necessarily create perfect systems and new ways don't guarantee innovations but if I can meet somewhere in the middle, I can pull wisdom from everybody." - Sicily GooseConnect with Sicily Goose:https://www.facebook.com/LifeWSicilyGoose#WisdomIsTimeless #AgeIsJustANumber #PodcastConversations #SicilyGoose #EmotionalIntelligence #GenerationalHealing #ListenToUnderstand #BlackWomenSpeak #ConsciousConversations #InnerWisdom #PersonalGrowth #StephUpPodcast #StephanieAnnWebbIf this resonates with you, I’d love to support you further. Learning to Listen to Your Soul: Reclaiming Your Inner Voice
20:19||Season 4, Ep. 10In this solo episode of the StephUp Podcast, I speak from my soul to yours about what it means to truly listen to ourselves—our bodies, our emotions, our inner knowing. I reflect on my own journey of being raised in an authoritarian, shame-based religious environment where I wasn't taught to think or feel for myself. For a long time, I didn’t know how to identify what I wanted or why I felt disconnected. I share how many of us, especially those with similar backgrounds, may have learned to bypass our inner voice in favour of others’ expectations—whether spiritual leaders, parents, or marketing gurus telling us what we “should” do.This episode is an invitation to return to yourself. To ask, “Is this for me?” and “Does this excite me?” To honour what your body is telling you, even when fear tries to keep you safe in the familiar. Healing and learning to trust yourself is not a linear path—it’s layered with patience, curiosity, and grace. If this resonates with you, I’d love to support you further. We explored the complexities of being highly sensitive and empathetic, and how those traits can intertwine with experiences like misophonia, limerence, and even possible neurodivergence. Angie shared how playing both scapegoat and golden child shaped her understanding of self-worth, and how people-pleasing was often a survival strategy to avoid rejection. We talked about the challenge—and empowerment—of setting boundaries, especially when it involves people you care about. Our shared interest in psychology and shadow work has helped us gain awareness and healing, and we reflected on how our past experiences, while painful, have become powerful tools for growth.
