Since that time Gerry has been in private orthodontic practice, is a Diplomat of The American Board of Orthodontics and a Fellow of The American College of Dentists. In this podcast Finn and Christian Url, a managing director at Orthorobot Medical Technology Vienna discuss the introduction of digital processes specifically manufacturing aligners in house with Hendrik Fischbach a German orthodontist working in by the North sea near Hamburg. Hendrik studied at the University of Cologne. Originally operating in a practice in Cologne but later moved to Northern Germany where he has a specialist orthodontic practice with a digital laboratory. The prospect of using new technology or new processes in practice can be exciting. However it takes a little work and finessing. We discuss how to begin, what we would do differently, and why we think it is a better way to practice orthodontics! In this episode, I chat with Dr Aman Ulhaq, consultant in orthodontics/honorary senior clinical lecturer in Edinburgh Dental institute, about multidisciplinary treatment in the tertiary care setting- in particular his approach to treating patients with Hypodontia. We also discussed the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh and the role of the Colleges in Dentistry in the UK.Dr Aman Ulhaq (BDS, MSc, MOrth, FDS(Orth)RCSEdin):Aman graduated with BDS(Hons) from University College Cork, Ireland in 2004 and worked for a number of years in general practice. He undertook specialty training in orthodontics from 2011-2014 at Addenbrooke's Hospital Cambridge and the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital and graduated with an MSc in Orthodontics from King's College London in 2014. He obtained his Membership in Orthodontics from the He became a Fellow (Orthodontics) of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2016 and has been in the post of Consultant/Honorary Senior Lecturer (University of Edinburgh) since December 2016.Aman has lectured both in the UK, South East Asia, China, and in North Africa. He was a member of the organising committee for the 94th European Orthodontic Congress in Edinburgh (2018). He is actively involved in teaching and training, and is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is also Regional Dental Advisor for South East Scotland. His research interests include clinical aspects of anomalies of tooth and craniofacial development as well as orthodontic materials

This episode is delivered in German language where I chat with my friend and colleague, Dr Maher Kemmoona M.Dent.Ch(Perio), MA -Periodontist.Maher is irish born and was raised in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. After completing his studies he worked in general dental as well as specialist practice in Germany until 2002 before returning to Ireland.He went on to persue a 3-year full-time programme in Periodontology and Implant dentistry at Trinity College Dublin. Additionally he holds a MA in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and is currently completing his diploma in advanced conscious sedation techniques.He has a keen interest in the management of the failing dental implant and the utilization of advanced bone grafting techniques.
