Carbon Neutral Strike Update 31: August 21 to 27 2026 "Just"
16:05|In this Carbon Neutral Strike Update, I am without cancer! Yay! Infected lymph node... so kinda gross but hey, not cancer. I am the grateful. I talk about the writing I've done of both Bachelor Thesis (not finished, don't get excited for me) and a story for a magazine. I share a snippet from the Thesis where I highlight the most used word in my Carbon Neutral Strike Updates 1 to 30. The word: "Just" and what that means.Hope you enjoy!Wikipedia Article on Jamaican Political Violence and the C.I.A: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamaican_political_conflictResearch paper about Jamaica's homicide rate: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/393663222_Structural_Violence_and_Homicide_in_Jamaica_1970-_2024_A_Systematic_Review_and_Meta-Analysis_of_Socioeconomic_and_Institutional_DeterminantsSolarpunk Presents Patreon (for transcript): https://patreon.com/solarpunkpresentsWebsite: https://solarpunkpresents.comFastfrwrd for Music and More: https://fastfrwrd.info
1. 9.1 Solarpunk Presents: Eating for the Planet through Fork Ranger
01:03:04||Season 9, Ep. 1On this episode from Season 9 of Solarpunk Presents, we sit down with Frank Holleman from Fork Ranger - the fact is that the top 10% richest people on the planet are responsible for a large majority of consumer emissions and so eating for the planet can make a difference when we know that 1/3rd of our emissions are based on our food system. Frank breaks down the details of what it means to make great food choices, and that it's not all or nothing; you can take many paths towards being more aware of how you eat and what it means. We can choose to eat foods that require less energy to produce, vegetables versus energy intensive meat. Even if the vegetable is shipped. We also play a fun game with randomized ingredients and Frank gives us some surprising recipes!More about Fork Ranger: https://forkranger.com/World Economic Forum Article on World Population Demographic Emissions: https://www.weforum.org/stories/economic-growth/richest-10-percent-causing-climate-change/Solarpunk Presents Patreon: https://patreon.com/solarpunkpresentsSolarpunk Presents website: https://www.solarpunkpresents.comFastfrwrd website: https://fastfrwrd.info

10. 8.10 Solarpunk Presents: Idealism versus Pragmatism
01:09:36||Season 8, Ep. 10In this episode we welcome back none other than Christina De La Rocha, former cohost of Solarpunk Presents, in order to discuss the benefits of Idealism versus Pragmatism. To us, idealism is aiming for the highest goals and accepting nothing less, while pragmatism includes compromise and just accepting the job as done even if it's only 75% of the goal. Which one should we go for as Solarpunks? And is it a binary or, like so often happens, is the binary false?Solarpunk Presents Patreon: https://patreon.com/solarpunkpresentsWebsite: https://fastfrwrd.info Guardian Article: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/aug/18/woke-progressives-rightwing-backlash-equality
