On this week's episode we continue our Summer Camp Slasher Series with "She Came from the Woods" from 2022. This one is a supernatural slasher movie, which we do not often touch on here at SlashU. But we thought it would be fun to cover it for our summer camp focus. Boy, what a great decision that turned out to be! This one is fun from start to finish. As Camp Briarbrook closes up for the summer and the campers go home, the counselors throw one last big party. They get together and perform an annual silly ritual to summon the ghost of Nurse Agatha, who terrorized the camp over 40 years ago. But it turns out the stories about Nurse Agatha are true! She ends up being summoned by their ritual and proceeds to pick off our counselors one by one in an attempt to gain immortal life. Great effects, characters that you love to hate, and a story that zips along so fast you can't even tell it's an hour and forty plus movie. Of course, we found the cheesiest, campiest stuff to focus in on and had a blast talking about it. Enjoy!

But somehow we managed to do it, and even talked about it for an hour. The story centers around Big Brayden and his father Big Ronnie. Together, they run a Disco Walking Tour. When both of them fall for the same woman, it sparks a rivalry between the two men. At the same time, a killer covered in grease starts menacing the town, strangling anyone who gets in his way. 01:01:41||Season 12, Ep. 202We're back for a Valentine's Day episode. We covered "Heart Eyes" from 2025. What a delightful little comedy/slasher movie! When Jay and Ally are forced to work together to save a failing ad campaign for jewelry, they end up getting stalked by a masked killer who targets couples in love. Can they survive Valentine's Day trying to convince the killer they're not actually a couple but at the same time falling for each other? Yeah, probably. And we talked all about it. A couple things in the movie didn't quite make sense, but hey, that's what slasher movies do! Don't blame us! Enjoy and tell a friend!201. Episode 201: Cult of Blood
42:31||Season 12, Ep. 201We're back for a new year and a new season of SlashU! We wanted to start Season 12 off with a bang, but unfortunately we decided to cover a movie given to us by two of our loyal listeners. And it was bad. It's called "Cult of Blood" from 2024. Now, granted it stars low-budget horror royalty in the form of Felissa Rose and Dave Sheridan. But that's where the fun stops because this one was a weird, disjointed, train wreck of a plot from the start. A group of social media influencers get trapped by a vampire cult and have to escape before their blood becomes fuel for some dark ritual that unleashes a weird bat monster. Yeah, all that happens. Make sure you watch the right one or you won't understand our episode at all! This is the one from 2015 directed by Mike McMurran. The story follows a group of college students who just finished up some Final Exams. They are gathered together for a house party and a Secret Santa gift exchange. But someone has other plans. The students are gradually picked off and murdered right within the house! Who's doing it and why?197. Episode 197: The Fright Before Christmas
39:48||Season 11, Ep. 197Well they can't all be winners. This week we're kicking off our annual holiday Slash Yule series of slasher movies. We started with one from 2020 that kind of falls flat, in our opinions. It's hard to image the director wasn't just trolling everyone with this movie. It's "The Fright Before Christmas" from 2020. When a magical, maniacal Santa Claus mysteriously appears at a holiday party, the guests all end up terrified and tortured. But the physical torture is only the beginning. This Santa also insists on telling them scary stories, which aren't scary at all and seem kind of pointless. So it's psychological torture too I guess. Anyway, we thought it had potential but missed the mark. We still had a lot of fun talking about it. Listen and enjoy!
