Running Backwards

A fustian middle-aged misanthrope, fatigued by his own mediocrity, foundering in the wake of his wife’s death and restless with confusing memories, falls under the spell of a pernicious barrow boy book agent.

The author seeks counsel from a questionable TV pseudo-therapist as a series of unsettling dreams begin to hint at the memory of murder.

Persuaded to abandon his life in order to write a ruinous confessional the author finds himself reeling around the country on his knackered old motorbike, hounded by his own inadequacies.

In a bid to outrun suspicion after the death of his loathsome landlady, the author heads East in the faint hope of tracking down a former failed love interest.
