Season 2, Ep. 17

Episode 17 - The *(Relate)able Podcast: Exodus... Because Home Is Where I Belong Part 1

Blaxodus, exodus, blaxit, whatever you wanna call it, there has been a movement taking place since the start of the pandemonium. Like Bob Marley said its movement of Jah people and we are leaving Babylon in droves! This week we're finally discussing why the big move with Sherween and Chantal, we speak about expectations verses reality, and the reasons why island life just may not be for everyone. Fiona poses a really poignant question regarding how we treat each other, and we speak about ways the JCB's (thanks @drnutmeg) can help with change whilst not stepping on anyone's toes.

Of course, there's lots of laughs as usual, and one of our hosts is just bursting with joy for some amazing projects coming up! Also, our *(Relate)able Jumpers are back on sale and you can grab yours here *(Relate)able Jumper (presswheel.co.uk)

    01:14:20
Episode 12It's Carnival Season, everyone! In February, all three hosts participated in carnival celebrations from different islands. Therefore, we found it appropriate to engage in a discussion with one of Saint Lucia’s Cultural Icons, Dr. Adrian Augier, regarding the evolution of carnival from its traditional roots towards a more commercialized direction. We explore how both aspects coexist, each depending on the other for survival, while striving to maintain the authentic essence of what carnival signifies to us.This week, Under The Mango Tree returns, transporting you to Martinique carnival, where you can immerse yourself in the chants of "Libérez le siwo" (Liberate the Siwo) and the rhythmic drumbeats that evoke a deep sense of nostalgia and spiritual connection to our ancestors. If you have any feedback, comments, or for sponsorship opportunities, be sure to get in touch with us via email on relateablepodcast@gmail.com or via Instagram on @the_relatable_podcast_  Remember the Les Bohemes early bird special ends on March 31st so please book early to save some cash!
