Rachel Lawson's The Magicians Podcast

The Velvet Crown heals. The community rebuilds. Fred returns home changed — walking palace halls as both king and queen. And when a glittering poster arrives at the palace announcing “Royale Blue — One Night Only”, Valentine just smiles. The drama queen is back. The legend lives on. And for one night only, Royale Blue reigns again.

The cult’s lair is a labyrinth of stolen costumes, broken queens, and dark magic. Fred, Reyes, and Dark Star descend into the shadows — and Royale Blue rises in full celestial glory. Her gown becomes armour. Her mask becomes a weapon. And Crystal Vandal’s rescue turns the tide in a war fought not with violence, but with truth. The queens of Queens stand together — and refuse to be erased.

When a drag queen’s magic explodes onstage, the world laughs — but the danger is real. Fred Alexander, the reluctant King of the Earth, is thrust into the spotlight after a cult targets the Velvet Crown. Queens vanish. Shadows rise. And Fred must decide whether Royale Blue is a mask… or the truth he’s been running from. This is the beginning of a battle for identity, community, and survival.
