Born in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico and raised along the Texas border, Tanya Saracho is an award-winning playwright and television writer who serves as a creator, showrunner and executive producer of the critically-acclaimed series, Vida, which earned 100% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes for both its first and second seasons.

Before marrying the world of television, in her 20’s, Tanya co-founded Teatro Luna in 2000 and was its co-artistic director for ten years. She also co-founded the Alliance of Latinx Theater Artists (ALTA) of Chicago and is particularly known for centering the "Latina gaze".

  •  the struggles with ageism and challenges of the industry
  •  personal beliefs in curanderismo , brujeria and santeria
  • queer content creation
  • …and the importance of intuition and self-preservation in navigating the creative world (and the world in general).
