Pathologically Honest
Sex When Society Assumes You Don't Want It w/ Angus
Angus has friendships, a fulfilled life, and plenty to say about the world. But when it comes to intimacy, there's a barrier many able-bodied people never have to think about.
In this episode, Angus opens up about accessing sex work, the heartbreak that led him there, and the relationship he's built through hiring a sex worker, who affectionately calls herself his “professional girlfriend”.
For Angus, this isn't just about sex. It's about intimacy, connection, having something to look forward to, and experiencing a part of life that can be much harder to access when you're a person with a disability.
We talk about the assumptions people make about people with disabilities, why Angus shouldn't have to justify wanting intimacy, and the financial barriers that come with having to pay for something many people take for granted.

24. Discovering Sex at 43 w/ Melanie
47:48||Ep. 24At 43, Melanie had never been kissed by a man.She had spent most of her life believing that women with disabilities weren’t supposed to be sexual, desirable or in relationships. Then one conversation with a support worker opened a door she didn’t even know existed. Melanie hired a sex worker. What followed completely changed her relationship with her body, intimacy, confidence and desire. She made a fantasy list, learnt what she liked, discovered that she could be desired, and eventually realised she wanted something she never thought was possible for her.Get amongst it:Instagram: @pathologicallyhonest TikTok: @pathologicallyhonestYouTube: Pathologically Honest Georgia: @god_worthy on all the thingsTouching Base:@touchingbaseinc on Instagramhttps://www.touchingbase.org/Want to get Pathologically EVEN MORE Honest?Join us on Patreon for bonus unfiltered episodes, exclusive content, behind-the-scenes spirals, and community chats. 49:25||Ep. 20No one talks about what it’s actually like to go into a psychiatric ward. We're inviting you behind the curtain. What happens when you walk through the doors? What does it feel like? Who are you surrounded by? And what happens when you leave? For another solo ep, Georgia unpacks the truth about what it's really like in a psychiatric hospital.
