Given the limited picks and prospects available for trade, could the Oilers have tabled a similar offer even if they wanted to try? The other angle the guys discussed is whether Blackwood would fit the plans, given how well Skinner and Pickard are playing right now.Changing gears, we reviewed the report from earlier today that the Oilers and McDavid have yet to start contract negotiations and probably will not until the season is over. With Nurse out of the lineup, the defensive issues have gotten worse and it certainly doesn't help that Evan Bouchard is struggling mightily and directly responsible for so many mistakes over the last handful of games.
