Cormac Delaney - Student Enterprise Awards Programme for 2021-2022
Cormac Delaney is a fifth year student at Holy Rosary College, Mountbellew, Co Galway and has a keen interest in business. This year he is taking part in the Student Enterprise Awards Programme for 2021-2022.
Cormas says: "For this competition, I have established an online gift box company, called The Irish Parcel Company. My initial focus is to succeed in the Student Enterprise Programme, and hopefully progress to the national finals. However, I fully intend to further my business venture beyond the enterprise programme and establish a unique company in the gift box sector.
The Irish Parcel Company creates gift boxes containing a wide variety of Irish products from producers located along the Wild Atlantic Way. Each box or 'parcel' is then individually hand-wrapped, tied and stamped with a red wax seal, replicating the style of the old parcels that were sent by members of the Irish Diaspora to their delighted relatives 'back home' in Ireland, a tradition which continued right up until the middle of the last century. Furthermore, all our packaging is recyclable and/or biodegradable."
Cormac was speaking to Michael D McAndrew.
