Journey by Joel Jackson

A Page A Day, "The Inner Garden"

An excerpt from my journal, June 12th 2022.

This A Page A Day features some exercises and examples of how to create visual aids to help you build your inner awareness of the four quadrants of life; physical, mental, spiritual and emotional. How to create a visualisation of these four aspects for your inner life and to harness their power and your connectivity to their presence, with some of my own personal examples for you to learn or steal from.

Dear all, Thank you incredibly for your patience, your kindness and your understanding as this episodes get to you a little later than usual. I wholeheartedly appreciate you, this community and our listening audience. This episode is a super helpful one for ownership of our own mistakes, reconciling that we can't control everything and understanding that the responsibility to turn up is something that is shared not only by those who surround us in the moment, but those who have been in the same position well before us. We're never alone and we're never as separated as we feel or may think we are. You will get through this. If you are feeling alone, affected by the episode's contents or potentially you're having a tough week or month please talk to a friend, family, health professional or reach out to organisations like LifeLine or BeyondBlue in Australia and other services that can help you out wherever you might be around the world. Sending my best to you all and take care. be speaking to you very soon. Joel
  • 25. A Page A Day, The Joy of Consequence

    17:38
The Joy of Consequence, after watching my sister, her husband and their kids for the past few days it was fascinating to look at how they shared consequence and reward with their children. The idea of delayed gratification and achieving a set goal is something I'm continuously fascinated with because all too often in my industry the goal posts are continuously being shifted and increasingly hard to aim for. But if we can set ourselves a goal with a reward that is fathomable and a consequence that is unendurable we can start to see the path towards achievement as being paved by the joy of consequence. A reflection on my experience watching the live musicians bring to life the score of the smash hit Max Martin musical, "&Juliet". It was utterly mind blowing and their teamwork, dedication, attention to detail and effort was astounding. It inspired me for my efforts moving forward while on tour for Black Swan State Theatre Company performing Barracking for the Umpire around Western Australia and I hope there is something that inspires you too. Thank you for tuning in and listening along, be sure to rate or review, like and subscribe to the podcast wherever and however you listen. Sending my best for your week ahead.
