Journey by Joel Jackson

Part 2, 20Talk 20Hours of Silence Challenge

Season 1, Ep. 20

Part 2 of 4 of the 20Talk 20Hours of Silence Challenge.

The following episodes are collated excerpts of my journal and remembrance from my experience of the 20Hours of Silence Challenge, where 20 participants gathered together in a huge warehouse in Fremantle, Western Australia in seperate 2x2m squares on the ground with nothing but a journal, a small mattress and a journal in total silence to raise funds the mental health charity 20Talk.

Follow along with my experience through insights, reflections and memories of what was a harsh and challenging, but ultimately rewarding experience.

A reflection on my experience watching the live musicians bring to life the score of the smash hit Max Martin musical, "&Juliet". It was utterly mind blowing and their teamwork, dedication, attention to detail and effort was astounding. It inspired me for my efforts moving forward while on tour for Black Swan State Theatre Company performing Barracking for the Umpire around Western Australia and I hope there is something that inspires you too. Thank you for tuning in and listening along, be sure to rate or review, like and subscribe to the podcast wherever and however you listen. Sending my best for your week ahead. An excerpt from my journal, April 5 2023. From a time when I was being exceptionally clear about what I wanted for myself in my future because the present was a little murky. No doubt we've all questioned the direction of our travel, the course that we choose and at this time last year I was doing just that. I'm so glad though in 2024, I chose to use an excerpt from my diary from almost exactly a year ago to reflect on how far I've come. I hope this weeks episode is an invitation for your own self reflection or maybe even to start jotting down some notes about where you want to be. The clearer the vision, the straighter the aim, the smaller the target, the better the strike. Stay the course and enjoy the tidings. Be sure to like and subscribe or rate and review, wherever and however you're listening to the podcast. Thank you again for listening in, I wholeheartedly appreciate it. My best, Joel
  • 17. A Page A Day, "Procrastination is the Assassination of all Destination"

    07:08
An excerpt from my journal, March 11th 2024. We all inhibit our own growth, potential and excellence in some way shape or form. We inhibit the potential to connect on a wonderfully deep and empathetic level with those around us because of the nature of modern intrusions. Why not step back, assess what it is that stops us from fully engaging with tasks, fellow humans and our goals and be done with it? With this episode, I investigate my own procrastination cycles and also how I label it to better engage with the act of removing it effectively.
