Scripture exposes the deeper spiritual question:What happens when we expect human beings to provide what only God can ultimately provide?Jeremiah 17:5–8 draws a powerful contrast between the person who makes “human flesh” his strength and the person whose confidence is in the Lord.🌳 One becomes like a shrub in a parched wilderness.🌿 The other becomes like a tree planted beside water—still experiencing heat and drought, but remaining rooted, alive, and fruitful.The difference isn't the absence of trouble.The difference is where the roots are.🙏 THE ANCHORPsalm 139 reminds you that there is nowhere you can go where God's presence cannot reach you.Hebrews 12:2 calls you to keep “fixing our eyes on Jesus.”And Psalm 91:1 gives us the destination of this entire series:“The one who lives under the protection of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty.”You need people. The 2025 Caregiving in the U.S. report from AARP and the National Alliance for Caregiving estimates that 63 million Americans—nearly 1 in 4 adults—provided ongoing care during the previous year. Nearly 1 in 3 were caring for children and an adult loved one; among caregivers under 50, nearly half were doing both.💰 Nearly half reported a major financial impact, while nearly 1 in 4 provided 40+ hours of care each week.💼 Six in ten family caregivers are employed—adding another layer of pressure.📖 THE WORDGalatians 6:2 says:“Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”Notice: one another.And when Jesus saw His disciples exhausted from ministry, He told them in Mark 6:31:“Come away by yourselves to a remote place and rest for a while.”🙏 THE REFLECTIONCaring for others is an expression of love. But you were never designed to be everyone's savior.Your identity isn't “caregiver.”Your identity is child of God.If everyone seems to need something from you, bring your exhaustion, fear, frustration, and burdens to Christ. The American Psychological Association's Stress in America research found that 54% of American adults identified violence and crime as a significant source of stress in 2024, while 63% identified mass shootings as a significant source of stress.But there's an important reality check: the FBI estimates that violent crime declined 9.3% nationally in 2025, including an 18.1% decline in murder.⚖️ THE DISTINCTIONDanger is real.But fear is not the same thing as danger.There is a difference between:🛡️ Wisdom and worry👁️ Vigilance and hyper-vigilance🧭 Being prepared and being preoccupied📖 THE WORD1 Peter 5:8 says:“Be sober-minded, be alert.
