Wave #3: Citizens of an Unshakeable Kingdom (74)
🌊 Wave #3 — Citizens of an Unshakeable Kingdom
In Episode 74 of Jesus Company, host Kenny Price enters the top three national stressors in our Wave Upon Wave series with Wave #3: societal division, political hostility, and cultural polarization.
With national surveys showing that 65% of American adults experience significant daily stress from political division and more than 70% report strained personal relationships, Kenny explores the emotional and spiritual toll of living in an outrage-driven culture.
But what happens when the noise of earthly politics begins to compete with the peace of Christ?
This episode serves both as a guide for believers seeking inner peace and a prayer alert for the broader church. Kenny examines how political hostility can pull our attention away from Jesus and reminds us to keep our eyes fixed on Him (Hebrews 12:2).
Through Philippians 3:20 and John 14:27 (CSB), we are reminded that our deepest identity isn’t found in a political party, cultural tribe, or earthly nation. We are citizens of heaven—called to live as ambassadors of Christ’s unshakeable peace in a divided world.

07:54||Season 4, Ep. 72🏠 WAVE #5 — When You Can’t Afford to Feel at HomeIn Episode 72 of Jesus Company, Kenny Price enters the top five national stressors with Wave #5: housing instability, crushing rent burdens, and the growing unaffordability of having a place to call home.📊 National Census and housing data reveal the enormous pressure being placed on American households—from renters struggling to keep up with rising costs to families who wonder whether homeownership is still within reach. But housing stress isn’t just about dollars and square footage. 🏠 When the place where you live becomes a source of constant anxiety, it can begin to shake something deeper: your sense of security.🙏 This episode is both a practical look at housing compression and a prayer alert for the Church—for families trying to keep a roof overhead, young adults trying to enter the housing market, and seniors facing the rising cost of simply staying where they are.👀 And once again, the question is where we fix our eyes. Financial pressure can consume our attention until we forget the One who already knows what we need.Jesus says, “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.” — Matthew 6:33 (CSB)🛤️ Psalm 107:7 points us toward the God who leads people “by the right road” to a place where they can settle. In this episode:🔢 The Tracking Countdown: Entering the top five national adult stressors with Wave #5.📊 The Verified Numbers: Examining national housing data documenting the growing burden of shelter costs for millions of Americans.🙏 The Prayer Alert: Interceding for families, young buyers, renters, and seniors facing housing compression.⚠️ The Spiritual Risk: Discovering how easily physical shelter can become our ultimate source of security instead of trusting the God who provides.👀 Eyes Fixed on Jesus: Why our confidence cannot ultimately rest in a house, a mortgage, a rental agreement, or a bank account—but in Christ.🪨 The Anchor: Matthew 6:31–33 and Psalm 107:7 remind us that the Father knows what we need and is able to lead us where we need to go.📖 Scripture: Matthew 6:31–33 • Psalm 107:7 • Hebrews 12:1–2 • Psalm 91:1–2 (CSB)Subscribe to the Jesus Company podcast NOW, its on all the podcast 📲❤️Tag us! 🔗 Listen, subscribe, and leave a review to help others find Jesus CompanyHere are some 🔗 Helpful LinksJesus Company on 🎧 Apple PodcastsJesus Company on 🎵 SpotifyJesus Comany on 🎙️ Amazon MusicJesus Company on 🎼 DeezeriHeart Jesus Company Podcast 📻 iHeartRadio🔗🌐 transformthiscity.org 📱 @JesusCoOfficial on X | Search "Jesus Company" on your podcast app📱 Connect with Us:💻 Website: Jesus Company is the home base for the podcast, and there are some additional links to podcast players that host the show!💻 Website: gwot.rocks home page 📺 YouTube: "Other Things with... 08:59||Season 4, Ep. 71⚡ WAVE #6 — When Technology Won’t Slow DownIn Episode 71 of Jesus Company, Kenny Price tackles Wave #6 in our countdown of the ten major stressors pressing in on adults today: the accelerating pace of technology, artificial intelligence, and the uncertainty it creates around our work and future.💻 Technology can change an industry almost overnight. AI can reshape a job description before you’ve had time to adjust. And when your sense of security is tied to what you do for a living, rapid change can leave you wondering: Where do I fit? What happens next?📊 National research points to significant concern about technology disruption, automation, and career uncertainty. But this isn’t simply a workplace problem. It can become a spiritual problem when the speed of change gets our eyes off the One who never changes.🙏 This episode is also a prayer alert for the Church—for workers, families, young people entering an uncertain job market, and anyone living with the quiet fear that their future could be rewritten by technology.👀 Hebrews tells us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. Not on the economy. Not on the next technological revolution. Not on our ability to stay ahead of the curve.🪨 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” — Hebrews 13:8 (CSB)🌊 Psalm 46 reminds us that even when the earth trembles and the mountains shake, God remains our refuge and strength. In this episode:🔢 The Countdown: Wave #6 in our ten-part journey through America’s major adult stressors.💻 The Technology Problem: Why accelerating technology, AI, and automation can create profound uncertainty about work and the future.🙏 The Prayer Alert: A call for the Church to pray for workers and families navigating career disruption.🧠 The Human Toll: How relentless change can produce mental fatigue, insecurity, and a constant pressure to keep up.👀 Eyes Fixed on Jesus: What happens when your identity is rooted in Christ rather than your career, productivity, or ability to adapt.🪨 The Anchor: Hebrews 13:8 and Psalm 46:1–3 remind us that while human systems can shake, God does not.📖 Scripture: Hebrews 12:1–2 • Hebrews 13:8 • Psalm 46:1–3 • Psalm 91:1–2 (CSB)Subscribe to the Jesus Company podcast NOW, its on all the podcast 📲❤️Tag us! Work can reach you almost anywhere, at almost any hour. But the deeper question is:Can your soul ever stop working?💥 THE HUMAN COSTChronic overwork can affect sleep, relationships, family life, physical well-being—and your ability to be fully present with God and those you love. And there's a spiritual danger: when life becomes produce, achieve, accomplish, repeat, you can begin living as though everything depends on you.📖 THE WORDPsalm 127:2 reminds us that God gives His beloved sleep.Jesus says:“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”Rest isn't laziness. It is an act of trust.Hebrews 12:2 calls us to keep fixing our eyes on Jesus—not our productivity or performance.🙏 THE PRACTICEYou may not be able to eliminate every demand. But you can stop carrying tomorrow before it arrives.📵 Put the phone down.🛑 Establish boundaries.🙏 Bring your weariness to Christ.🌿 Receive God's gift of rest. You were created to work—but you were never created to become your work.🧭 THE QUESTIONWhere are you dwelling when the work never ends?🌊 The waves may keep coming. But you can still dwell in the shadow of the Almighty.➡️ NEXT: WAVE #6 — WHEN TECHNOLOGY CHANGES FASTER THAN YOU CAN KEEP UPSubscribe to the Jesus Company podcast NOW, its on all the podcast 📲❤️Tag us! 69. Wave #8-You Are Never Alone (69)
09:20||Season 4, Ep. 69🌊 WAVE #8 — YOU ARE NEVER ALONEHealing the Sickness of Modern IsolationResting in the Shadow of the Almighty: Overcoming Fear and Hyper-Vigilance in an Uncertain Age🎙️ SEASON 4 • EPISODE 69What if you can be surrounded by people—and still feel completely alone?👥 A family dinner.💼 A busy workplace.⛪ A crowded church.📱 Hundreds of digital connections. And yet, somewhere beneath all the activity, you’re carrying the quiet thought:“Nobody really knows me.”🌊 THIS IS WAVE #8As we count down the TEN major stressors impacting adult men and women across America, we’ve already confronted:🛡️ WAVE #10 — When You Don’t Feel Safe Anymore🤲 WAVE #9 — When Everyone Needs Something From YouNow we come to one of the most invisible waves of all: emotional isolation—the hunger for genuine, authentic relationship.📊 THE RESEARCHThe American Psychological Association’s research on America’s “Crisis of Connection” reveals the magnitude of the problem:🔹 54% report feeling isolated from others at least some of the time.🔹 50% say they lack companionship.🔹 50% say they feel left out.🔹 **69%—nearly 7 in 10—**say they needed more emotional support than they received. The paradox is striking: you can be connected to almost everyone and still feel connected to no one.📖 BUT SCRIPTURE GOES DEEPERSecular research can measure the symptom. Scripture exposes the deeper spiritual question:What happens when we expect human beings to provide what only God can ultimately provide?Jeremiah 17:5–8 draws a powerful contrast between the person who makes “human flesh” his strength and the person whose confidence is in the Lord.🌳 One becomes like a shrub in a parched wilderness.🌿 The other becomes like a tree planted beside water—still experiencing heat and drought, but remaining rooted, alive, and fruitful. The difference isn't the absence of trouble. The difference is where the roots are.🙏 THE ANCHORPsalm 139 reminds you that there is nowhere you can go where God's presence cannot reach you.Hebrews 12:2 calls you to keep “fixing our eyes on Jesus.”And Psalm 91:1 gives us the destination of this entire series:“The one who lives under the protection of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty.”You need people. You were created for relationship and genuine fellowship. But no human being can become your ultimate source of security, identity, strength, or hope.❤️ You may feel alone. But you are not abandoned.🌊 The waves may keep coming. But you can still dwell in the shadow of the Almighty.🧭 THE QUESTION FOR THIS EPISODE:Where are you looking for the connection your soul was created to find?Subscribe to the Jesus Company podcast NOW, its on all the podcast 📲❤️🔗 Listen/Subscribe/Review-help others find Jesus Company🔗 Helpful LinksJesus Company on 🎧 Apple PodcastsJesus Company on 🎵 SpotifyJesus Comany on 🎙️ Amazon MusicJesus Company on 🎼 DeezeriHeart Jesus Company Podcast 📻 iHeartRadio🔗🌐 transformthiscity.org 📱 @JesusCoOfficial on X | Search "Jesus Company" on your podcast app📱 Connect with Us:💻 Website: Jesus Company is the home base for the podcast, and there are some additional links to podcast players that host the show!💻 Website: gwot.rocks home page 📺 YouTube: "Other Things with... 06:53||Season 4, Ep. 68🌊 WAVE #9 — WHEN EVERYONE NEEDS SOMETHING FROM YOUResting in the Shadow of the Almighty: Overcoming Fear and Hyper-Vigilance in an Uncertain World🎙️ SEASON 4 • EPISODE 68Have you ever reached a point where it seems like everybody needs you—but nobody is asking how YOU are doing?👨👩👧👦 Children need you.❤️ Your spouse needs you.👵 Aging parents need you.📞 Someone needs a ride, an appointment, a phone call, a bill paid, or simply someone to be there. And somewhere in the middle of it all, you realize: you have become the person everyone depends upon.🌊 WAVE UPON WAVE.📊 THE RESEARCHThis isn't simply a personal observation. The 2025 Caregiving in the U.S. report from AARP and the National Alliance for Caregiving estimates that 63 million Americans—nearly 1 in 4 adults—provided ongoing care during the previous year. Nearly 1 in 3 were caring for children and an adult loved one; among caregivers under 50, nearly half were doing both.💰 Nearly half reported a major financial impact, while nearly 1 in 4 provided 40+ hours of care each week.💼 Six in ten family caregivers are employed—adding another layer of pressure.📖 THE WORDGalatians 6:2 says:“Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”Notice: one another. And when Jesus saw His disciples exhausted from ministry, He told them in Mark 6:31:“Come away by yourselves to a remote place and rest for a while.”🙏 THE REFLECTIONCaring for others is an expression of love. But you were never designed to be everyone's savior.Your identity isn't “caregiver.”Your identity is child of God.If everyone seems to need something from you, bring your exhaustion, fear, frustration, and burdens to Christ. And don't be afraid to let somebody help carry yours.Sometimes God doesn't remove the burden.Sometimes He sends someone to help you carry it.🧭 THE TAKEAWAYYou don't have to stop loving people. You don't have to abandon your responsibilities. But you don't have to carry every burden alone.🌊 The waves may keep coming. But you can still dwell in the shadow of the Almighty.➡️ NEXT: WAVE #8 — When You Can Be Surrounded and Still Feel AloneSubscribe to the Jesus Company podcast NOW, its on all the podcast 📲❤️Tag us!
