What’s Happening Around the Curling World?
Pretty quite on the bonspiel circuit
this past weekend but a number of provinces
completed playdowns for the Scotties and
Brier and we now know all of the teams in
the Scotties that will start on February 14 th so
we will review. Another well known curler from
years gone bye has passed away and we will
review with you who passed and their history
with the sport. The controversy with regard to the
type of broom heads being used by the top
players continues and World Curling put out a
statement on the situation last week and we
will review where it sits.

Matt Dunstone has had a heck of a year!
30:51|Matthew Dunstone (born June 25, 1995)[1], nicknamed "the Sheriff"[2], is a Canadian curler originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 2026, he skipped his team to victory in the 2026 Montana's Brier, his first Canadian men's championship title. He is the first and the only skip in World Curling Federation (WCF) history to win three Olympic medals – gold (2022), silver (2018), and bronze (2014). David Murdoch: the future of Canadian Curling, following a successful Olympics.
33:05|David Murdoch is a retired Scottish curler. As the Scotland skip, he and his former team of Ewan MacDonald, Warwick Smith, Euan Byers and Peter Smith are the 2006 and 2009 World Curling Champions. Representing Great Britain, he has been skip at three Winter Olympics, Torino 2006, finishing fourth, Vancouver 2010, finishing fifth and Sochi 2014, where he won an Olympic silver medal.
