Grief & Happiness
What Near Death Experiences Teach Us About the Heart of Consciousness with Dr. Eben Alexander
Are you seeking a deeper meaning for life? Understanding the science and spirituality behind the human consciousness will lead to a spiritual transformation.
In this twenty third episode together, I am joined by the incredible Dr. Eben Alexander. Dr. Alexander is an academically acclaimed neurosurgeon and author of Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Afterlife, Living in a Mindful Universe: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Heart of Consciousness, and The Map of Heaven: How Science, Religion and Ordinary People are Proving the Afterlife. In 2008, Dr. Alexander was driven into a coma by a rare and mysterious bacterial meningo-encephalitis of unknown cause. After waking up on the seventh day, Dr. Alexander began to write about this near-death experience and started reading others. Through understanding the commonalities between his journey and so many others reported throughout the world, Dr. Alexander soon realized that consciousness is at the root of all existence.
Throughout this episode, Dr. Alexander and I have an amazing conversation about his scientific and spiritual discoveries about consciousness, reality, and near-death experiences. He shares his personal near-death experience, the recent scientific evidence that supports spiritual beliefs, what the common theme is among near-death experiences, and how we can all achieve the same spiritual awakening without having a near-death experience.
